My university dissertation was on this and when I started it I didn't think it was a huge issue. After my research however I was shocked at the magnitude of the problem. Anything to combat this is surely a good thing. Perhaps those who think it isn't a big deal have never fallen victim to this sort of cowardly behaviour. We can never fully understand a problem unless we have fallen victim to it.
Cyber bullies don't just get their material online. Some bully outside the internet. Like say a person at school decides to post offensive things about their victim on the net.
You can't block in real life the way you can on the internet, they can still do it even when punished, or ignored.
Cyberbullying is real bullying. It's no different from writing offensive things on the wall about someone, basically.
The media think that cyber bullying is a bigger problem than it is. If you're too thick to block someone on MSN, or just ignore some stupid low-lifes and you go and cry to a teacher, then you're pretty sad. It does not happen that very often. Why is cyber bullying a police issue, when normal bullying outside of the web isn't? It's stupid, overblown nonsense.
If you get Cyberbllied then you are one of the thicker kids. go to a different chatroom/forum. Get a new e-mail adfdress. If they say they are going to kill you, no they are not, they have never met you. When I was 12, I had no such problems, in the numerous chatrooms I visited.
To all you, rough tough "get over it" idiots, I assume you're all probably over 30, at least adults in age anyway. Please think about it, bullying can be more intrusive now than for you, txt messages, on msn, emails, and all the traditional playground stuff. Aside from that, there is greater pressure to conform nowerdays with a much bigger media in a childs life than your own, tv's in bedrooms, internet advertising and toys (ie bratz etc) that make young people more underconfident than ever.
This is quite a bollox ad, Kids need to see what ACTUALLY will happen if they go on cybermentor, not some unrealistic metaphorical representation of going to the site.
Anyway if any Kids are getting bullied and need some help on coping with it DO go to the website CyberMentors
i went on Cybermentor to check it out bcase i was hearing alot about if and went in there chatrooms and they where just giving crap advice and just saying "youll be ok" to people its a nice concept ut it really needs improving !!
so cheese it's pretty badly made. kids just need to grow some balls, stop whining and get on with it - ignore the bullying or fight back like the good old days.
@padmasana12 esactly i mean a few years ago i was bullied for a little while i just went and beat the leader up and then it was done and dusted, its an experience to man up but people are such cowards now
@padmasana12 The kids who are mainly picked on are the ones who can't fight back. the weak, or the ones without any friends. The bullies know they wont do anything to fight back. It's not about 'growing some balls' It's about to live a free life without fearing what every day will bring, or how you will be punished by the bully.
Spot on. Oh, and this ad sucks. Personally, I would ignore it. If the kids parents, teachers and schoolmates can't do anything about it, neither can some badly funded 'CyberMentors'. They sound like some sort of retro game from the 80's.
i was bullied as a kid..i got over it.. life kicks you in the balls at times. i think the soft approach is getting to the point of stupidity...it aint workin, bring back national service!!!
yea it does thats wut gives you the motivation to do something about it thats what made me work out so hard now. but for some im srry to say kill themselfs may you people RIP

This video is really really vague. I feel the people who made it have no idea what cyber bullying even is.
How will donating money to them help? They don't say how the money will be used... Or what percent profit will be used to actually help the victims.

Should be focusing more on real bullyinh rather than cyber.. you can easily block someone or delete them online.

Where are you going when you die?
The Bible says that everyone falls short of God's standard and deserves hell.
But if you ask God to forgive you for all the bad things you have done, he will have mercy and you can go to heaven!

Bullying is just one of those things that are seemingly impossible to beat.
And about running to your teacher to help you, well, it's complete balls. They're just beat you harder if you run and tell on them.
No worries though, Chuck Norris will protect the kids being bullied.... hooray!

Young people can now get the evidence to show.. that there not alone.. an there is someone always out there to talk and help you out.
Or even to help others.
