In this version, Willie is a "he". In Doc Watson's versions,(Doc has recorded this with Clarence on other songs, maybe this one too) Willie is a she.

Does anybody know what "Willie" is referring to in this song. I was thinking, Halley's Comet or Willy maybe a famous pilot or plane in the early part of the 20th century?
