@monkeyfarm Placing 2 or more golden rails in a row and powering one of them causes all of the rails become powered - this will cost less and give more speed.

you can also attatch a second minecart to the rail with a detector rail and can use it as a easy way to go down into the area too...

@monkeyfarm I found a way that seems simpler. Put a block with a button on each side, with wiring with repeaters going to the other side from the button block. It connects in to the block on the opposite side of the rail from the block with the button. Unfortunately the link to my screenshot is giving me an error, or I'd give you a picture to help with the explanation. Only problem is it might be a little harder to hide, so it might be uglier.

@monkeyfarm I will do that. I have actually done it with other mine tracks many times, in both singleplayer and multiplayer. I usually use creative wherever I go, since I'm admin on my fav. server, but nonetheless It's really easy.

@monkeyfarm I think they meant to hook both booster tracks up to one redstone line, and it will activate both, if the cart is up top it will go down, if it is down, it will go up.

if you place 2 repeaters side by side 1 going one way 1 going the other way put red stone on each end of the repeaters then your wire ran in to a part of the red stone and out the other side of the repeaters you will have a 2 way repeater

OHHHH throughout the whole video was wondering... why wont one straight line work? Then i finally realised what you ment! If you place normal repeaters they only work one way hence the double sided repeater so it works both ways.

create a t- flipflop with the output connected to the bottom booster, then invert the signal, so when the minecart is up, the flipflop is off, with inverted signal, so when you send it down, the flipflop turns off theoutput, and then you press it again, and it sends it on its way

lets say you want to go from A to B and vice versa, i guess, if you put powerrails at the both ends, and connect them with 1 wire line then put 2 push buttons at the both ends, it will trigger both ends simultaneously. whichever end the cart could be on, it will go to the other end.

was messing around trying to see if there was some way to make it smaller, and though I don't have a 'better' way, I did manage to come up with a nifty little system using two sticky pistons and 4 repeaters as an alternative. Its actually more resource intensive, but I do think it could have some alternative uses. Its only one block high, so maybe useful for work above/below rooms where space might be limited.

why dont u just have one line of redstone going from one end to the other with a button and have it so both sides turn both sides on, the time it takes for the cart to get to the other side will be slower than the redstone so itd be off when it gets there, the simple simple solutions are always the best

Hey monkeyfarm. The drinking a potion when opening doors, pushing wires, opening chests etc is a known bug. You didnt do anything wrong :) And Try something like Etho's mob farm switches. Pistons retract and allow light from pumpkins into the room to turn them off. Simple circuit and very effective. Id sugest having a lava switch that covers the spawner but of course that now creates smoothstone on contact with water. Bit of an issue. GL HF

But what is the ratio that i need to light the caves for the monsters only spawn on my trap?

@BossKingMC it's not a ratio... mobs will spawn within a 144 block area centered where you're standing. so you need to light up that area at a minimum ( i suggest even more so you can walk around and still be within the 'lit zone'.

if you have a "Power V" bow. aim at the head of any mob with 10 or less hearts and fully charge it. that = instant kill

@SuperMasterMole he had only power III and push-back I, I believe if my memory serves o 3o of cource it won't kill kill a monster sense lvl 3 is only 1.75 strength of a normal bow and lvl 4 is 2.0 Str ^_^

im not 100% sure if it has been patched, but you use to be able to put a block over a minecart track that was on an angle, the cart would still pass through without any problems, if it has a been patched tho try a translucent block like stairs should still work ;)

Monkey i dug a huge hole right on top of bedrock, blocked the entrance up, went to my base for a while. Then when i came back down there were mobs in there and no slimes, i hit a spider then shut it and when i came back in the skeletons were dead.. o.o anyways do i need to light the place up or somthing?

I don't know how rich on iron you are, but one way to do it is with pistons

Hey monkey I was just wondering how many spawns per hour is your cavespider EXP trap, Because mine is about 150 per hour on maximum tweaks. So I really want to know how i can optimize it or maybe you can post a video on ways you can improve your trap.

@MattS6993 Again and again. A repeater is a diode, meaning current goes only in one direction. So as soon as you use a normal repeater your powerline is one-way again.

@MattS6993 yeah thats what i did... luckily i only needed about 4-5 of them. you could run two full redstone wires between the two buttons - uses a bit more redstone, but easier i guess.
