if she sings this song in english ,i wonder how many people in hong kong would like it, just imagine mixing lemon with milk, if you drink it, you will have to go to toilet every 5 minutes, music isn't the language of the world. however body language is the best communication tool, ask the hookers at tsim sha tsui, they will tell you that i am right.
I don't know the author who wrote the lyrics. As I said before, it's written in classical Chinese style, in a poetic format. The song describes how circumstances have changed a love relationship over time. There're 4 verses. Each verse is very similar to the next. The writer changed only a few words in each verse. Still, he delivered the message. It reflects the literary skill of the writer is very high. In any language, you need a very high literary skill to be able to do this.
In retrospect, I think James Wong was a pretty lucky man. When he passed in 2004, Wah Wa attended his funeral with their three children, leaving the past behind them and let him rest in peace. James Wong's last words which he communicated through his oldest son were "not to forget his laughter".
Wah Wa walked into a lawyer's office and filed for divorce cuz James was having an affair. Public opinion was lopsided against James. That prompted him to write another one of his classics "Ask Me" in which he wrote " If you ask me how many times I've been cheered, and how many times I've grieved, I really don't know where to begin. Whether I've done it a hundred times right, or a thousand times wrong, I'll take full responsibility for the consequences. I'll gladly say it's just me."
I have to give whoever posted this a pat on the back for pulling it out from the museum. It's so long ago I can't even remember which year it was. From the posting, it's 1975. The lyrics was written in a poetic form, with four verses, classical style. The artist was James Wong's first wife, Wah Wa. She retired around that time, and later moved to Canada. In his final years, James Wong revealed that in the mid-70's, when Wah Wa was 9-month pregnant with their youngest child (to be cont'd)
