  • This is the song I fell in love with DD. Never saw he video. Just heard the song on the radio. So please don't try to humiliate their talent by saying they're just image. DD are talented musicians that deserve the whole of their fame. Thank you.

  • Who knows what the heck they where singing about half the time. Their songs and videos where cool though!

  • Ford F-150 steer wheel on the right. Australian may be?

  • evey time i hear this it puts me in a good mood!!!

  • Union of the Snake and Duran Duran. MTV of the 1980s gave new artist creativity opportunities, as the music video genre was explored. This was also released at the time the United States was exploring the dark apocalypse movies, such as the Day After.

  • @WOWJBEOWULF The thing groups like Duran Duran and MTV of the 1980's did was make it that all future artists had to be able to be visual instead of just able to be listened to. (Before this time artists could look any way they wanted and no one would care as long as they made good music; I should know I was in my late teens/early twenties in the early 1980's). The other stuff you wrote about is something you must have picked up

  • @sneezyize from anyone have a clue, even yourself?

  • GREAT SONG!!!! WEIRD VIDEO...WELL ALL THEIR VIDEOS ARE WEIRD..ITS COOL THOUGH.

  • Which nutter thought up this completely deranged and random video?? Its so completely random, its creepy. Then again I guess that what the 80s was all about

  • @ribenariver It is called creativity! The 80's were known for that. The videos seem random because they invite to logical thought or abstract constructs in a fun, non-complicated manner. The idea was for us to watch it and interpret the video in the manner in which our young thoughts dictated (at the time).

  • one of my favourite durany songs :))

  • in the 80's,

videoclips where mostly short movies, a big difference against 90's & nowadays...

this Duran Duran clip is a pure example about the better 80's music and their videoclips!

  • @JediF1 Well stated dear friend! Creativity at its best !

  • you from 2 years ago....did you grow up with these guys invading your teenage years (that is the eighties by the way!)....my goodness maybe not... gosh you really missed out..maybe you're time was the early drugged filled 90's...lots of raves and passing of polos....u really missed out...your loss!!! ( our Dawds loved em) lol

  • I Love This Duran Duran 1983 Music Video, "Union Of The Snake," Which Became A Top 5 Hit In America.

  • i wont this music in my phone

  • omg....reptoids.......like a few famous are.....

  • @swiftwolfe88 haul ass bitch

  • @fenderrlee ur face

  • Simon Lebon Bono of U2 are sons of Anu!

  • they are good singers im from the 70s and 80s.

  • two snakes coming together but they are one! Its from Conan the Barbarian!!!

  • Very Reptilian!! Check the Mars connection with the planet shots, the young blonde children as food for the Reptilians, black & while checkers-Freemason symbols. This is blatant!! How to make it in the record industry;sale your soul to the Illuminati and the New World Order by having loads of Reptilian & Freemason symbolical signs in your videos. Fuck this Evil, wake up people!!

  • Msnbc's Contessa Brewer Is So Sneaky

Duran Duran Was Right She Is The Union Of The Snake.

  • song is about the reptilian race theory of human creation, aka the annunaki, and that is straight from andy taylor's autobiography where he sorta makes fun of simon's theme for this song....however its a very very interesting bit information if you look up the annunaki and the how all the ancient societies all claim to have been started and visited by aliens and that our dna was manipulated..its in the bible as well written in the ancient Sumerian tablets found many years ago..

  • @theandroidmeme very relevant

  • annunaki o que?

    no al nuevo orden mundial.

  • i love it.....

  • The 80's, there's not a decade like 'em.

  • I may be wrong but isn't the union of the snake a homosexual reference? look at wildboyz?

  • no offense to videomakers of today, but Music Videos from the 80's and 90's are still much better. MTV enougjh of your reality show craps being back the 90's format that made you reach the peak of your popularity at that time

  • I was in JR high when this played...great memories

  • we were all giggly, funny, all our walls were plastered w/ duran duran posters floor to ceiling. miss those days

  • @lmy6545 best days ,when we were young and without worry

  • my girlfiriend and i made a cassette tape and told them how much we loved them and sent it to them back in the 80's.

  • Don't be alarmed; its just an elevator in the middle of the desert with some tropical birds....come on in.

  • Made #3 in Billboard.

  • russell mulcahy directed this video i recommend Razorback have the same style

  • As A Person This Song Is All About Contessa Brewer She Is The Union Of The Snake Cause She Is Beautiful But Deadly.

  • adore , love, worship duran duran they are my fav band of the 80', being a teen by that days!!!! what a time !!!!

  • lucky u!!

  • The wild boys !

  • @darwleg have you seen this video on the "Making fun of Duran Duran" series XD? the comments are hilarious!

  • Haven´t seen it yet , thansk for advice i will see it. Stay duranie,xD!

  • j adore ce titre !!!

  • Ah, so HERE is where Costner got the idea for Waterworld! This explains everything...

  • O_o you know, I've heard AWFUL things about that movie, but if that's the case, I'll give it a try, cuz I LOVE the hyperactive trippiness of this video *_*

  • What is this song about? What is the video about? Maybe one of my least favorite (of the popular ones) dd songs

  • Have you ever watched Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome? Well this song as well as Wild Boys is pretty much taken from that movie.

  • it must be the same director,i think

  • I LOVE this video, it's so trippy the first time I watched it I went hyper XD, haha; probably it was because I was expecting something completely different (like a night out at some glamourous, coast-side city, with fancy suits and all that jazz).

But, seriously, I find it really inspiring :)

  • anyone who was around in 1980s knows Duran Duran were mega famous - but - in addition, totally untouchable in terms of status in the music industry. Duran Duran, were, for 5 years, the best band in the world and brought a new edge to entertainment: the music video. Thats why MTV praised them and acknowledged their influence with an award in 2004.

  • The guy who made most of their big videos, all of them in fact, was Autrailian filmmaker called Russel Mulachy.( He made Mad Max and Beyond Thunderdome and also Razorback - if you watch this film you hear this song on the radio in a driving scene.) Duran Duran wanted to be the biggest band in the world and wanted visual and sound to be their brand. It could be consdierd ultra commercial or just a great way to communicate your musical ideas but ...

  • Duran Duran, during the early 1980s, were the most cutting edge musical force in the world. If they were due on top of the pops., every band noticed, they knew Duran Duran set the bar. The videos, allways, were like special occasions. The video and music merger was invented by Duran Duran and not only that they hired a Hollywood filmmaker to make their videos, all in the 1980s. That was just one side of the Duran Duran machine.

  • Re a previous post-Duran Duran, to this day, along with Michael Jackson (Thriller album)-made the best videos ever. They take you places-jungles, beaches, sun, sea. Another great video from that era is Murray Head's One Night in Bangkok.

  • I never really got this video lol anyways DD rocksss

  • Duran Duran makes the BEST music videos of all times!

  • ClAssiC D2

  • Holy crap! I didn't know Duran Duran did this song and I have always loved it. :) YAY!

  • :] D2.."..voices in your body coming through on the radi.. oh oh..."

  • yes most of thier videos were mini movies. it was a style from the 80's before they got cheap and just filmed concerts

  • I so love Duran Duran.

  • It was Australia and Europe. Dance scenes where shot first in Europe then added the desert scenes later together.

  • Where in Eastern Europe was this filmed? Anyone know?

  • Farmer, I'm not sure but I thought this was filmed in Australia.

  • Are all the Duran Duran videos all mini movies? I think they are great.

  • many of duran duran's videos were directed by russell mulcahy, a filmmaker. he may have been the first to come up with the concept for shooting music videos on location, as the early trend was to shoot them on a set. he said no one would fund him to shoot full-length films, so he used the four-minute music video platform for his creativity. the d.d. videos are indeed fabulous.

  • Yeah, at least a bunch of them, and they're great as well :) ; you can check Wild Boys, or Rio, or the softer Save a Prayer

  • Love DD and the song!!!

    DD FOREVER!!!

  • Voices in your body coming through on the radio--What a fabulous line to their adventurous song!--Mikey faved & 10 Stars!

  • I didn't even know there was an actual video for this song until I got the DVD "Greatest". Until yesterday, I'd only seeing the live version of "Union of the Snake".

Thanks for posting ^_^ I must say that the videos on YouTube are responsible for me spending about $150USD to updated my Duran Duran collection (almost all of my old stuff is on cassette, and I've never owned any of the videos).

Much love to the Fab 5  :3 (Yes, I miss Andy.)

    MeOw!

  • This is my favorite video EVER! Thanks!!!

  • Awesome...Best Band Ever

  • At 3:05 That looks so much like Mariska Hargitay!(Benson on S.V.U.) I think she's a little too young though.

  • Mariska's old enough.

  • Chrome think- ROFLMAO! Good one!!

(GNRLUSR8-I think it seems like it's gay sex too.)

  • This song is about the perils of do-it-yourself plumbing in an apartment building. The singer is trying to unplug his shower drain using two plumber's snakes joined with a union. There's a backflow in the drain pipe, so the union of the snakes starts to climb, pushing the top snake up, so he has to get down right next to the drain where he can hear "voices in your body" from other apartments' toilets.

  • Oh.

  • how do you know that??

  • Hmm - interesting - somehow I think it's about finding treasure because they show the backup dude uncoiling and resealing a treasure map - maybe the snake is looking for women's diamond rings that have fallen in the drain or something........

  • @chromethink lol nice one dude, magic mushroom i presume?

  • @chromethink That cracked me up..thanks =)

  • @chromethink f-ing hilarious, man

  • @chromethink r u serious???????????

  • @chromethink you right you must know a lot about this i think really is about the union workers of plumbing that's all about....the union workers represent the economy of this country basicaly....i agree with your coments....

  • @chromethink That's the best description of the meanings of the lyrics to this tune I've ever read. -:) LOL!

  • You almost expect to see Martha Quinn or Nina Blackwood presenting the video...20 odd years have gone by. Excellent sound and quality - five stars!

  • Oh yeah, believe it or not, actress Jennifer Connelly is actaully in this video. She plays the oldest of the child-cult and she was only about 13 yrs old at the time. Look for her at 1:58.

  • This was always my fav duran duran song. Great synth, terrific bass & guitar, awesome sax solo & it has a perfect beat to it. What more could you want from a song?

  • I've been a Duranie sine '83.

Is it just me, or does that little red headed boy look like Ronald Weasley from the HP movies...lol...seriously! The actor wasn't even alive then, but still...

  • That was always a hallmark of Duran Duran. They had the most striking video's of their day, and they still hold up well today, although some would berate the fact that some of the video's style is from the '80's, it only stands to reason that it would look like it was over 20 years old.

  • always loved the song. their ability to put a sinister twist into a pop tunes was superb. though the video is very dated and trapped in its era, it's still incredibly well done.

  • Wow! Martin Gore is a really good juggler!
