  • Where do you buy that hooked needle???? Loved the video!

  • @debbiesezhi Anywhere you get your knitting notions! That one is from Clover (I like their products) and I got it at my local Joann Fabrics. It came in a pack of three. They also make straight ones with a little "v" cut in the middle. Also, in a pinch, you can use a small, straight double-pointed needle, about 2-3 sizes smaller than the needles you're using to cable. Hope this helps! Glad you liked the vid!

  • You have NO idea how helpful this video is! Thank you so much for making it and please make more!

  • @amysueinalabama Thank you! I'm glad you found it helpful. Is there anything specific you'd like to see for the next video?

  • you couldn't have explained this any better! this is such a good video!! :D

  • @harowicz66 Thank you! I try to explain things the way they'd make sense to me, so I'm glad it worked for someone else!

  • Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Now I know what a cable needle looks like AND how to actually use it correctly. ALSO, I now know what a stitch marker is AND how to use it. Can you tell I'm really just beginning here? Again, thank you so much for going slowly and showing every step. Great video.

  • @Mscoffeeforu2 You're very welcome! I'm glad you like the slow and detailed. So many knitting videos didn't show me steps so I decided that when I learned how to do something, I'd show it step-by-step for others who had the same issue! So glad you found this helpful. Yay for beginning! Hope you enjoy knitting and continue to develop a healthy yarn addiction!

  • Thank you soooo much! This was extremely helpful!

  • @Katieed You're very welcome! I'm glad you found it so. Thanks for the comment!

  • Your nails are pretty :]

  • @BrookerSmokes Thank you!

  • thank you for that very informative how-to video. i've seen a couple of how-to cable knitting videos, but they weren't really step-by-step videos like this one was (or maybe i've been looking at the wrong videos). and a beginner knows how another beginner feels and what they're worries and concerns are. again, thank you!

  • @whitecheddar10 You're very welcome! Thanks for the comment. I hope to upload more videos here soon. You're very right - some of the videos I watched just didn't answer the questions I had, so when I made my own video, I made it how I would want to see things. Glad it worked!

  • The red yarn is hard to see on your video. Don't you put the cable needle in front at one twist and on the back side for the other twist. It seems you put the cable needle in front every time. What does that create? I'm new also.

  • @bethsutube1967 Hi! Yes, you do hold the stitches on cable needle in front or back depending on how you want your knitted cables to lean, but you don't need to switch back and forth to make "the other twist;" it happens automatically. The stitches you crossed over create it. This is a basic six-stitch pattern that makes a long row of left-leaning cables. I made a scarf with this pattern. Try it! Thanks for the note about visibility. I'll be sure and use a better color yarn for the next video.
