I do not take drugs, I am into exercise, fish oil, herbs, meditation, etc. Paxil numbs emotions. At least it has with some friends and my X man. It totally turned my X boyfriend into a apathetic asshole. Are these people oblivious that there emotions are flat lined?
as an anxiety sufferer i was on 20 mg paxil for 8 months.. i came off it under my doc's supervision like 2 months ago and i am much better now, much much better when i was on it although i cant say i am totally free of anxiety.. still having difficulty breathing and having dizzy spells almost all the time during the day.. so, long story short, it doen not work that well
stay away from all of this shit! it ruined my life and the doctors are STILL trying to get me on it again! FUCK THEM! pills dont solve anything! embrace your pain! its part of who you are! suck it up and deal like the rest of us. i get attacks daily! and trust me! they are worlds better than Zonking out on this trash!

Is Olanzapine with 10 mg at night ok with 40 mg Paxil in the morning? I think so eh? I have to go to get my meds from the pharmacist everyday now, my kids destroyed my meds, say I am a zombie on Olanzapine, but I like the CALM. I used to be extremely high strung, my whole family like that too. Now they dont like me mellow, I function just fine, but people have said I seem zombyish because the pills make me quiet. I like em, MY CHOICE! ( i mean the zyprexa not paroxetine)
My food appetite feels more like anxiety than hunger and I eat frequently but its always there, except after I take the .5 clonazepam at night around 7pm. Its works by 8:30pm most of the time. I think I want to taper off paroxetine because I went from being anxious around large groups of people to feeling anxious all the time on this drug. Clonazepam seems to help with the anxiety but gives me muscle twitches and brain fog. I just want to go back to the way I was before the meds!
Paxil helped get out of depression, it will change you. I felt like a different person with different desires very out going, felt like living from 3rd person. at 25mgCR and above. Its helpful but get off once you can. I tapered from paxil to lex without withdrawl.

I obviously stopped the seroquel but I am bipolar type 2, Paxil seems to work a littel bit for a little while but I am already at 40mgs and it isnt enough to stave off teh depression fully. I have had reactions to depadoke too. What do you suggest???

Wow, that's REALLY interesting about the drug reaction with Abilify. I did that and paxil together for a while and it was a bad, bad scene. I started having a little parkinsonism and I generally kirked out LOL! Maybe it would have been better if I had tried that with a different AD. Paxil did work ok for me though. The other SSRI's are WAAAAY too stimulating for me and I had much fewer side effects on it.

I looked at the equilibrium dissociation constants and paroxetine's was one of the lowest of the non-tricyclic antidepressants. Doesn't that mean it is therefor stronger than other SSRIs?
i've been on paroxetine for the year to help with my complex-PTSD. right now, i'm on 40mg. it's been a lifesaver in most cases, but man oh MAN are you right about the withdrawals. if i miss one dosage, usually within the same day i will feel the worst i've ever felt in my entire life. the brain zaps are horrible. i feel tingly and fuzzy all over. every movement your body makes feels delayed. it's very much like the flu. all because of its short lifespan. thanks for this video doc!
Some SSRIs have an effect on receptors other than 5HT as well. Paxil has an additional antihistaminic actity, hence the sedative effect you were wondering about.
There are comperative charts to map the relative efficacy of various SSRIs in blocking or enhancing various receptors
paroxetine was the first meds I was put on when I finally seen a psychiatrist, at the start it put me to sleep so well but after about 2-3 weeks I never felt that effect anymore. Sure was fun when I ran out for a few days, ended up calling the hospital at 3am.
Worked GREAT for me for my social anxiety for about 3 months...then just stopped working, made me impulsive/angry and suicidal...not good
