they are probably shutting it down because they are building a flagship store for the new disney retail chain called "imagination park" in Time Square

Actually, They are expanding the size and enhancing the design(s) of the

Disney Stores. When they are done, The Disney Store(s) will be like an indoor 3D Disney Play Area Experience and a shopping place all in one.

This is just a clue on what I have researched and found out about part of it.
