i know this kind of living quarters are supposed to host many people in a relatively small surface, but, to my taste i could never live in a place where nature is implanted in left over space, or drawn in between buildings. as i personally see a good living space should be developed starting from nature, buildings to be obtained in spaces between green areas, expecially trees and luxuriant greenery. i'm open to conversation and confrontation about this subject anyway!
It's a shame that 99.9% of new developments in the uk ar crap!! Let's hope that this economic crisis will push people to re-think the way they live and that we finally could get real good quality of developments in this country, I cannot stand another Barrat house repeated everywhere !!! Let's start erasing the words like "compromise", "features", "potential", "character" from our vocabulary and start really thinking about light, space, and design in a way that reflects the time we are living!!
Canada is the same. Using boring, repetitive, takes on the same old humdrum house. There is the odd custom home which breaks free but most people just don't seem to care enough or are to afraid to stray from the standard.

@KEPHALLE The truth is, in the Nederlands, nature stands very high on the agenda. Modernism and nature are perfectly compatible.
