The Reds fly a formation called the ' Tornado ' in which all 9 jets make the shape of a Panavia Tornado. They have been doing it since 1983 , so they do have something to do with the Tornado

The red arrows fly hawks which are not used by the RAF in a combat role, but as trainers. I don't see how a patriotic British display by our best pilots, which would no doubt dazzle any visitors at the olympics, could be considered offensive in any way. I would love to have seen them fly at 2012
