I was down at Harwich 2day, looking at the pirate radio exhibition at the Ha'penny pier. You can see the ship v. well from the sea front, apparently it's the brightest thing in the harbour at night (funny that, it's a lightship!) Go and have a chat with the guys at the exhibition (theyve got some gr8 stories to tell). There are ferry trips out to the side of LV18 as well.
I'm nothing to do with BBC Essex, just a fan of all things radio, not even old enough to remember the pirates as I'm 22 2day!
absolutely superb, after so many years of listening to boring independant radio with play lists at last i can actually listen & enjoy the music i love, lets all hope that bbc pirate radio essex will be permanent on the airwaves.
Great Stuff! Will this be the most listened to radio station in the UK between 9-14 August?!!The blogs are going out all over the world so tell your friends about it. If it wasn't for the Pirates, radio in the UK would sound like a poor version of BBC Radio 2! Big L lives on in our memories!
Great to see on board ... and good luck to all who sail in her next time out ... Sad how well I remember August 14th 1967 ... "Caroline Continues" do you?
Great news that it'll be back again. It was brilliant radio for that week in 2004 and worth gold dust amongst the established radio scene that exists now. Good news too that most of north London can pick up BBC Essex on 765kHz AM.

The great Keith Skues just plugged this video on his show.
Those idiots at the BBC should never have cut Keith's shows back to 1 a week,it's a disgrace!
