  • my life is made. the acting the suits THANK THE LORD FOR THIS

  • Goes on a bit, but Peter Lorre as Gollum was PERFECT.

  • what is the song sam is singing?

  • @tapetedepadaria It's Tolkien's "The Road Goes Ever On," but sung to the tune of "A Kiss is Just a Kiss" from Casablanca. Do a search for "Play It, Sam"

  • @ianwestc I knew it was time goes by, but I didn't recognize the poem. =]

  • wtf

  • i found it racist them calling the black dude Sam

  • @TF23lliot Yeah, that's an offence to Sam.

  • when is the blu ray coming out?

  • Scenes from the Maltese Falcon and Casablanca?? Funny thing.

  • One problem here: how could WB make such an epic in '44 and NOT include the studio's biggest star? Bette Davis would DEMAND to play Arwen, even if it meant having to play opposite Errol Flynn as Aragorn!!

  • 2:00 to 2:08-why you don't walk into mordor

  • @Morringlin actually.... Sam is depicted by the black guy in the "second" scene

  • Well the Ring and the Maltese Falcon are both Mcguffin plot devices.

  • This is epic, and kinda scary, because you can totally see this filmed like that by Hollywood these days.. and the rest of 2 hours filled with pointless special effects.

  • Very good Sydney Greenstreet was great but why does Bogey sound like Donald Sutherland. Listen to it again I thought it was him doing the voice over, and suggest Peter Lorre whould sound a trifle more sibilant !

  • This was awesome.

  • I would like those 9 minutes of my life back, please.

  • If you have any decent movie ears, this opening music is from Jason and The Argonauts.

  • complete total failure how come they put Galadriel and Elrond and Saruman but not Sam or Aragorn??!?!?!?!?!

    LAME!!!

  • fail

  • Fake!

  • @ostattack Well, aren't you a genius? *eyeroll*

  • Really clever! Agree Peter Lorre perfect as Gollum. But, then Godzilla does make a convincing Balrog. And, how about Marlene Dietrich as Galadriel.

  • the automatic "cc" (captioning) is kind of hilarious too, ugh

  • @siglmgga thank you!it doubles the fun XD

  • That was the funniest 9 minutes I'm likely to have today so thanks for posting.Love how it saves on 3 films aswell LOL.

"Get outta my way,you flame of Udun"LOL priceless.

  • Do you know how to whistle Frodo? Just put your lips together and blow!

  • you should've used Max Steiner instead of Bernard Herrmann

  • Why is it so pixilated? They could have cleaned it up a bit. Too hard to see the detail with that pixed screen over the top of everything!

  • Wait, is the voice of Gandalf also the same person who does the voice of Snape in Potter Puppet Pals?

  • Play it again Samwise Gamgee

  • "Get outta my way, you flame of Udûn!" *blam blam*

  • Who has time to do this kind of brilliance? BTW, Neil sent me too. He gets around.

  • screenplay by Raymond Chandler - No Way! How cool!

  • Pretty good work:)

  • Stay out of Mordor

  • Humphrey Bogart is by far the most Badass Frodo ever.

  • lol awesome! Neil Sent me

  • ...A video by Cyriak is on the right? Eh?

  • Gollum is the best!!!! LOVE THIS. Neil sent me too ;)

  • That was fantastic.

  • Bogey as Frodo! Thanks to Neil Gaiman, I now have a favorite new LOTR version.

  • Neil sent me as well. Currently at 11,643 views.

  • Fake? How can fiction be "fake?"

  • This isn't fake, it was produced and then cancelled, so they used the footage on other movies. It's a very common practice in hollywood, especially on that time with limited budgets. Like if you know this.

  • @UoBtExFODA And then the idiots sold their brilliant script to some Oxford professor for peanuts, so he could go ahead and make millions with his cheap novelization ...

  • I have no words for how happy this makes me. The end is brilliant.

  • Watched this with some popcorn - great fun. Trust Bogey to sort things out.

  • Silly

  • Why the frip is "Disproving evolution is easy" on the suggestions list?

  • ahahah... "stay out from mordor!!!" :D

  • Neil Gaiman sent me and I am disappointed.

  • I love the "It's a fake!" comments. What, a film made 10 years before the book on which it's based? I believe 'No shit, Sherlock!' is the appropriate phrase here.;p

I was also sent by Neil, btw.

  • Not the fact tat the rest of the footage is from Maltese Falcon? Of course it's faked, it's meant to be a joke you sillies.

  • faked stock "casablanca" footage was a give away

  • @saber919 Can't tell if trolling, or...

  • faked

  • Hilarious!

    "Stay out of Mordor!"

  • Oh god. Peter Lorre as Gollum. PERFECT CASTING!

  • There is something more than sharing & liking the video, that I could do to show my appreciation? Because, if there is, I want do it

  • Peter Lorre as Smeagol is perfect!

  • Covers the story better than Bakshi's version.

    Not saying much.

  • HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA BLACK SAM MADE MY WEEK

  • Neil Gaiman sent me this. :)

  • They should have used some lines from bored of the rings.

  • Also sent by Neil Gaiman. lolin jauntily.

  • "...now everyone can have happy lives forever, thanks to you."

    "...I know."

    lol

  • "Get out of my way, you flame of Udun!"

  • Hilarious!

  • "I think we're close enough from here."

  • Holy crap! I haven't seen this video in years. I used to have a tiny res version on an old hard drive. Awesome to see it again

  • What a let down.

  • What a classic!

  • I can't tell if you're all trolling very successfully or you actually think that this isn't a bunch of other Humphrey Bogart films edited together and dubbed...

  • Peter Lorre does look more like a cave dwelling once-hobbit than he does a Levantine, I'll give it that.

  • We'll always have Mordor.

  • I want to see this concept developed. A mob movie loosely based on LotR.

  • well lets see mix Casablance+The Falcon+The Big Sleep+The Third Man+Gojira+Too many other films+Tolkien= Lord of the Rings Noir style. LOL Peter Lorre as Gollum Brilleint!

  • And, much like in the 2001-2003 movies, it's all about walking around.

  • Just follow what Neil had said :D

  • Lol Neil sent me too and I love him for it. I was particularly fond of Dietrich as Galadriel.

  • oh dear. what a load of cobblers

  • Um....how did they get "Grey Wizard" messed up with "The Fat Man"?

  • thanks neil

  • anyone who knows LOTR would know this was bull before they clicked =) Fellowship of the Ring wasn't even published until 1954 lol

  • @GregoryCarl8 clearly WB predicted the future. =p

  • Neil Gaiman hates Tom Bombadil.

  • Ah yes, flyingmoose and Neil Gaiman, I love you both.

  • I love Tom Bombadil. Why do they always leave him out!

  • Neil sent me as well. I think a better cast would have been Greenstreet as the voice of Sauron with Lorre as Saruman with Wells as Gandalf

  • @whitelion44 Disagreed. It's the part Peter Lorre was born to play!

  • Yep. Neil sent me too. :D

  • Oh, Neil Gaiman...you tricked us ;) Love it.

  • OH YES NEIL I DO AGREE

  • Balrog FTW

    7:30 cigarette drag, as well.

  • Neil Gaiman sent me as well may he be fortunate a thousand times.

  • What the heck, they always leave out Tom Bombadil.

  • @Avalon616 lol - oh, you purists! Too true, though.

  • @Avalon616 Well, Tom Bombadil was only invented in the 1955 novelization of the original 1944 movie to beef it up a little.

  • Neil Gaiman sent me :)

  • @m3rrys0ngstr3ss Me too!

  • @m3rrys0ngstr3ss Same! :-)

  • The lesson here being that, were the LotR movies made in the '40s, Frodo and everybody else would have been wearing a hat.
