@coppergraffiti Why you think its very slow? both computers have the same components, only difference is that the aluminum one, has integrated battery which is bigger which life lasts longer and the screen is black with its unibody. the white one, the battery is removable which is smaller which doesn't last long for about a difference of 15 minutes. and the white one is made from polier some shit like that :D

I bought my most recent Macbook at almost exactly the same time, and I got the white one. While I liked the build quality of the unibody aluminum ones, I didnt like the looks so much, and I wanted the FireWire port. It was also very easy to upgrade the RAM and hard drive. For $135 more, I now have 4GB of RAM and a 500GB hard drive.

I REALLY like the look of the aluminum. The thing is, it's hella expensive, and I could afford it, but I'd really like to have a little spending/emergency money for when I get to college, as I don't know how long it'd take me to find a job on campus. Plus, I think with the white one, I'd feel a little outdated (though at this point, anything from 3 years ago would be better than the crappy hp compaq I have now). Please help? Ps. I'd be my first mac too :)

Hey, the white macbook is basically the same as the aluminum except for the aluminum has 40 more gb of hardrive space. Yes, the white one can look outdated, but it will still perform great and the same as the aluminum. You can also get an educational discount from apple for 50 to 100 doallars I think, and the throw in a free printer. Basically the decision is how much you want to spend, and if you want to pay for a sleeker design.
