In its day the show was its days version of the old Batman TV series. Stars lined up for cameos such as that. Get the box set and watch close there are many more guest shots like that. One episode had William Katts mother (Paula Hinckley) in it. So the answer is YES!! That was the late Mr. Pryor.

Richard Pryor was bigger than bit parts on TV shows when this series was out, but looked somewhat similar (this guys bigger arms on pause are a giveaway as RP has always been a skeleton).

Not him. And why do people keep saying there is going to be a revival? I can't find anything about it that isn't 5 years old. I think it's dead. Certainly not a release date of July 2008 like brianpadraic claims. Give me one solid shred of evidence anyone is even greenlighting this. I for one would love a new show, so long as they didn't try to update it too much. It also couldn't be present-day because everyone has video/digital cameras and he would be exposed very fast, unlike in the 80's.

yeah the Greatest American Heroine was not exactly a fan-favorite cuz it wasnt the same without William Katt playing the hero. Sure, she's cute in red spandex but that's it. It was only showed in syndication. The pilot was never showed til then.

It cannot be confirmed, but I have heard that Michael Gray, who played "Billy Batson" on (old show) "Shazam" might play the new TGAH. But I'm not sure if Michael Gray would be young enough or even if he is acting again. Also, the "Green Guys" (the aliens who granted the suit to Ralph) maybe revealed to come from a civilization in a "hollow" Mars. I think like "John Carter." Any one???

The Greatest American Heroine is coming back in 2008 and I'm not sure Pryor would do somehing this small (of a role) But who knows? Maybe he owed Cannell a favor he was a fan of the show. Remember: think of all the A-listers who've done the Simpsons..

Richard Pryor was at the height of his popularity in 81-82 when this came out, he was doing movies, plus look this episode up on imdb,it's The Two-Hundred-Mile-an-Hour Fast Ball there's no Richard Pryor credited at all, plus Pryor's ego was so big, you would have see special guest star Richard Pryor. Trust me, that's not Richard Pryor. However, you can find Danny Glover playing a cop in GAH, in "Fire Man," when he busts Tony Villicana. The main thing about this segment that bothers me is the reason Ralph gets onto the major league team is to catch the guys beating up players, so you'd think he'd be wearing the suit all the time! As for this ep (200MPH Fastball), I can't believe this was the season 2 opener, not the next one, which is one of the best: Operation: Spoilsport.
