the only thing that bin laden and che guevara have in common is that they both fought the usa. however, che guevara was a progressive and a socialist, who fought against poverty, inequalities, and dogmas. bin laden is a conservative, who fights to enforce dogmas and inequality. he's a millionaire who has never shown any interest in social justice or in the re-distribution of wealth. i have to confess i had a higher opinion of fun-da-mental before hearing this interview. :-(

I think heroism is subjective. So the most you can say with certainty is that he isn't your hero. He isnt mine either, but thats probably down to where I grew up, and my political affiliations. As for their comparison with him being seen as a modern Che, I have to agree in that he represents a geurrilla movement against imperialism. I wonder how Che's enemies percieved him? I would bet they called him an evil terrorist too.

Just a few more thoughts... I'm not sure about the legitimacy of those 'Bin Laden confession' videos. I can't say I've seen him or heard him lately, just old repeated clips, and subtitled videos that freeze when mentioning events that have happened over the past 6 years. Shortly before Benazir Bhutto was assasinated she claimed he had been murdered. I agree that its not a conventional way of acting,but look at how the Jews were submissive in WW2, staying very quiet, to not anger germans any more

Bin Laden is a confusing character. It's difficult to know what to believe about him. Some Muslims even believe he's working for the CIA. I saw the video of Benazir Bhutto letting slip that Bin Laden had been murdered. I guess it's possible. I'm saying I feel its a similar situation, where people are watching their mouths very carefully, because a slight sign of agression or disagreement with these things could be dangerous. I think most muslims are accepting any racial/religious discrimination coming their way, as to not kick up a fuss. There are many new laws here criminalising speech of sympathy for terrorists or justification of terrorist acts, so some speech is a crime if it contradicts state opinion in UK.

I think theyre very blunt, and maybe giving a bad rep, but I respect them for speaking their minds so clearly, without worrying if its offensive. On one of their videos they end with a JFK quote:
