To make them listen, Wananchi should march to Parliament compound naked and refuse to to leave until the government is desolved. They should be willing to bear the brunt of a gun and go hungry if need be for the sake of their children's future. They should all refuse to go to toilet anywhere else except at the walk-ways and entrances to the Parliament, State House, and all else where those greedy baboons frequent! Our Kenya's future is at stake and we can't hide our heads under the sand anymore!
They should also come up with a system that requires Mp's to resign if they get cabinet/government jobs. cabinet members earn 2 salaries, as a Mp and as a cabinet minister. eliminating one paycheck will save a few millions. Also nominate qualified people in the ministries and they are evaluated on job performance. Also get rid of assistant ministers. we all know its the permanent secretaries that do all the work.
NYC mayor and current USA V/P (as a Delaware Senator) are known to have commuted by train to work daily...and they're accomplished politicians by their own right! Don't even think of the former V/P Cheney's office...it was a 4 bedroomed house in DC! oh my Poor hungry Kenyans...
I should say, my two favorite ideas, getting rid of those commissions of inquiry and having MPs pay taxes like everyone else. Those two are really do-able.
Robert, your ideas are great except that taking away the Prime Minister post would make it even harder to ensure that duties are segregated in our government, meaning that we would return to the days of Moi where one person was controlling absolutely everything.
Nothing will change in Kenya. These suggestion will NEVER happen and I can bet anything on that.
