  • So what's the story on Watada now? Is he still stuck on a military base? What's Obama think of Watada, or vice versa?

  • To hell with the bastards in office. I will not go either, die for some rich bum who has oil stocks we make him rich for.

  • There will be a Nurnbergtrial afterwards. "Befehl ist befehl" is indeed not a good defence. I didn't know either. History shows that the majority of people just follow their dictator.

  • Watada, the ONLY officer who is loyal to his oath, to defend the constitution. Our military today is a bunch of prostitutes who will follow ANY order, for their next stripe, for their next raise and for the admiration of each other. A mutual admiration society isolated from our country, a standing army -DOWNSIZE IT NOW.

  • Yea, he's a soldier and if your a soldier you can judge cause he's your peer, but standing up and speaking out takes courage fools. Talking shit on the net is cowardly funking idiot.

  • Soldiers are trained to take orders, not question authority. It is up to us outside the military to raise the questions.

  • slokoon, how could just keeping his mouth shut and dying in Iraq be honorable. I'd say that act would be cowardly, this, THIS takes courage.

  • When you join the military on your own free will you dont pick and choose where you go its not burger king where you can have it your way..He 's just scared and didn't wanna just every other Soldier, Sailor ,

Marine or Airmen..In My opinion as a Soldier hes

A disgrace and what hes doing is just dishonourable no matter what you feel about war hes just shying from the duty he signed up for. He's no hero if he had at least been there he'd have more credibilty and respect

  • He's a good man, a good soldier, and a loyal American. He just doesn't want to go off to that particular war. Good for him.

  • "because I was following orders" has never held up in court as a defence.

  • "And that is part of a dangerous concept! That men of the Armed Forces owe their primary allegiance to these temporary occupants of the White House instead of to the country and the Constitution we're sworn to defend!" ~ Gregory Peck as Gen. Douglas MacArthur
