I like this technology ... but only one detail about this ... many people have cell phones or laptop into a "pocket" (backpack, pants pocket, purse, etc. ..) and there is where they will spend most of the time, and we know that there is no sunlight. And another point is that at night is not charged for the same reason there is no sunlight ... or when we are inside a building, there is only normal light bulbs, so there is no sunlight too...
@hychyc ... so it says in the video is always going to be charging it will not be applied at these points, and where the cellphones, computer, etc will spend most of the time ...
@hychyc I think that this will work like the solar strip on calculators and any ol' light will do. This video itself is at a convention of somekind and the charge displayed is from the overhead lighting.
The only problem I see here,It might be a good Idea for those people to have this wireless charging screen, but what happens to those people that live in Alaska, and have to endure 6 months out of the year in total darkness.where would this Idea help them.
@ParagonBass1 Oh! GoD No!!!!! since people at alaska cant use this. Destroy IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WFT?!!!! man I bet ur always looking for the bad side of things aren´t YOU?
I have a new idea about wireless power. I find that wireless power can make energy in the air. You can find my paper as "Energy Multiplier in Retarded Resonance".
A good idea is to put some of the stuff in the fabric of a shirt, if you look on the website it says they will be able to, then you can charge the phone while it is in your pocket (the cord could be annoying at times thou)
@joemark200 I think it will improve the battery life as long as it is in light OR the screen is on, if you watch when he covers the screen it sill draws power from the screen itself (if it collects 10% of light, in total darkness while the screen is on, it may get ~5% back, depending on how much power it needs for non-lighting)

This is good for power (somewhat), even at night, as it will draw some energy from the light of the device itself!

This on a nook would enable people to never EVER have to use a charger.
