If this situation here in my country (Portugal), I think that in the next elections, for the 1st time in my life, I'll vote for the Communists. I think this capitalist system, as there is now, has to be confronted, and without alternatives, that's what that is left. Cyprus is ruled by Communists and they don't have any problem with that. EU has gone too far!... Euro is a failure and a new order is needed. Anyway, if Tunisia follows the Turkish example, congratulations!
church and state should ALWAYS be seperate. When are islamic people going to clue in to this. Religion is WRONG period but if you MUST practice a religion DO NOT EVER FORCE IT ON PEOPLE! A country is not a muslim an individual is. It really makes my blood boil that islamic fundamentalist dictators in Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia etc. use fear and intimidation to keep people under control by using religion as weapon. It is disgusting! Evil evil men! Stop treating your people/women like CATTLE!!!!
@Tarbash7 Syria's government is secular, who told you it's islamic fundamentalist?
besides, if the islamists in tunisia win, they are not going to force the Islamic law... because they can't.
and people chose them because they feel they are honest... yes, more honest than the seculars like ben ali. if they win, it's because the majority chose them... isn't this called democracy?
and finally, why are you mad? it's none of your business.
Great day for Tunisia and the Arab World.........Dec17.... Not even been a year yet. An look at what has changed.......... Its truly a new era of change in the World.
Its a shame there was no polling station in Sydney as there is there is a sizeable community here as opposed to Canberra. But none the less God Bless Tunisia!
I cried when I first watched this, even the lingering shot of the window while this articulate, educated modern woman made the first vote for her democratic country. We had similar hopes for Iran in the late 70s, I hope citizens such as this woman will make it work well. Please vote Tunisians.
Good luck Tunisia, it's not always easy, Australia trampled on democracy today with violence against Occupy Melbourne protesters.
hey Im french origin from Tunisia iwant to go to Australia for 2 weeks im looking to meet Tunisian friends !! ahmedtf200179@yahoo.com
