To be honest, Melanie is too far from Leona Lewis because she has no octaves and whistle registers. Also, she has no star factor or she just look average. That's why she was almost sent home by Simon Cowell during the top 8 girls in his house in France. Simon gambled by choosing Tiah Tolliver and Simon Battle over her because the "diva" singing is not the trend now in the music scene. What happened to the careers of Jennifer Hudson, Fantasia, Jordin Sparks, Alexandra Burke, etc.

Hands down the best singer in the competition, and her voice is just amazing!!!!! Just a stupid stunt from Simon Cowell to drop her out from the finals. "I didn't realize how good you were" Yes he did..... and that is why he dropped her out and brought her back in... To create the best "come back". Melanie Amaro - As Paula said "her voice is like fine China". She's good singer but what I regret about her is that wish she had bigger voice. She sang "Man in the Mirror and "Will you be there okay for me because she had no bigger notes in the chorus of the songs - that's what L.A. Reid talks about when he comment. If she win, I believe she won't sell lots of albums because she's like Alexandra Burke on imaging and voice, not like Leona Lewis for me.

Ofcourse, everyone can relate to range but you have to be paying attention to measure depth - the richness of the notes. This show is even more about selling these contestants as stars because there is more money riding on the winner than there was in American Idol. Personally I don't mind the crowd noise, makes it feel like they're in a real concert, it's better than having the audience sing along, that annoys me more.
