I used to live in Dalston, my mum still lives close, and IMO regeneration is badly needed. It's been scandalously neglected in the past, leading to high crime rates and a lack of pride in the area among its residents.
TBH, I'm a bit pissed off that squatters and middle class trendies are trying to dictate the future of an area that others have to live in, while they can - and do -move on.
Millions Of Pounds Are Being Dug Into The soil And bricks of Dalston, for us, its people. I say clean up its heart now by removing White Ace, Crack and Herion And The Scum Who Hide Behind It.
you can't stop progress, especially with the silly land prices in central london. i used to go to an old factory venue called tyssen st studios round that way, i think its flats now. i remember the mural well.
Thanks for this. Lived in Hackney for years, but knew little about the issue. Let's hope the developers don't get their way. Hackney's Labour council would do anything to get their hands on a bit of cash.
yuppies come in to 'help' but all they do is take and drive the cost of everything up. They are completely selfish
