I am a digital painter and the daughter of an art and a litterature professors + I have minor degrees in theology and phylosophy. Obsessive love is nothing but the result of control and dominance issues and having had bad examples of people "loving each other".

@AshivaraMienne there is no obsessive love and no dominace, i see this in that way, the guy just fall in love and is mesmerized in the girl its a kid of "love", he want to just show how bad he want her , not as you say he want that she will be paralyzed, fat, i have no idea how thats called in english but a lot of poets use it, poems reflect real life but you need to see it its often the real meaning is hidden by the poet. I see nothing what is wrong in this song

@Kalonar Ok, I'll be the adult in this and say it - obviously we have two totally oppusite opinions and even if I and most of my girl friends think the song is creepy and offending, I don't feel like waisting my time fighting over it. This world needs different opinions because they make it interesting and if you find the song ok, I respect that. Psychotic lyrics which display serious control issues...disturbing...

Doesn't matter how amazing his voice or the melody is, the lyrics are 50% of the song and these lyrics ruin the song.

@Kalonar It does, because there are many kinds of love, except the owning and posessive "love" doesn't qualify as such in my book. Love isn't about compromises or owning each other (the famous "youbelong to me"), .to me and my partner it has always been about compleating each other in whatever we do and wanting the best for each other and "I wish you were a little slower, Not just slow but paralyzed" is far from love.

And even if love is strong and real, if it's one-sided, it's just sad because strong emotions aren't easy to deal with, plus burdening the other partie with such obsessive needs is disturbing and close to stalking. I had to teach my guy to actually talk to me and that was a little ride through Hell.
