When Chelsea played arsenal at highbury back then I would normally see Henry slotting it into the corner but not that time I still like wayne bridge COME ON CHELSEA
This was the moment Chelsea had the beating of the Arse. For 13 years straight we had lost against them and to beat the Arse in the Champions league was just fantastic. Doesnt matter about "class" or "small time". Its always results on the day that make you smile and i remember this one with the biggest grin as it turned the tables after all that time. Creed are shit though....
@MrOMGees Chelsea are a small time club and they always will be. You got a bit of cash and think you are the fucking dons. Sorry but money doesn't buy class.
what can i say but i was unseparated with Chelsea .... but this team disappointed me nowadays :) Chelsea' days 2004-2006 thereafter they were unable even to score...
I will always remember this match for years my uncle an Arsenal fan had been bad mouthing Chelsea for years and years and that night when we finally won against them I rang up and sang Chelsea songs down the phone to him and he hung up in disappointment
dont know why chelsea would have gone into admin. had millions of pounds of assets at the time. easy do what anyone else would have done sell some. how much the 2 hotels worth the ground the players at the time so none could have been sold. strange because every other club does
Even though i was fairly young and still growing my passion for the game, this game is my proudest and favourite Chelsea game/moment. When we finally went from mid-carders to top runners (maybe with the help of some russian finances ;) ), but this team wasnt the star studded Chelsea.
If Arsenal went through we would of won the Champions League with ease but Chelsea should of won the Champions league after knocking us out, how they didnt is really bad on there part, but in the end they were the winners because through not winning and mourinho's Porto lifting the trophy they ended up with the "Special one".
@dvorakoa chelsea would not have gone into administration, we were owned by abramovic. maybe you are thinking of the game against liverpool for 4th place where gronkjaer scored the cross/shot.
@dvorakoa this was romans first season administration. why was that chelsea got 2 hotels worth 100 million was all bullshit. arsenal borrowed millions to pay for new ground make lots of extra money and still win fuck all
i watched this much in Ehiopia, man i got to tell you' them niggaz were all arsenal supporters , hard core arsenal supporters...when bridge scored they were what i call glory hunters..all of them talking shit abt arsenal as they should. blue till i die..
This is probably my favourite match ever, even tho i was only 11! Who could ever forget Bridge scorin THAT goal! find it funny tho seein terry and bridge out celebrating at the end!
@KnutNF How many seasons, years, people said this already, its getting boring, LOL, the fact is clear as day, Abramovich loves football, unlike some other owner(s). And he is not going anywhere.
I was sitting in a "pub" in Savannah, GA, and I was the only one watching the game at the bar. This is one of the best games I've ever seen. Bar none.
arsenal fan here. i remember watching both legs. they were a joy to watch. Both teams gave it their all and it's too bad there had to be a winner. arsenal's unbeaten run against chelsea was bound to come to an end at some point and tbh, since then u guys have had a hold against us. p.s. not trying to start shit here, but this team was much more tolerable to watch than the one that you guys had under mourinho. ranieri was a likeable character whereas mourinho's arrogance was just too much for me.
not really mate arsenal were unstoppable in the league that season not champions league completely different ball game when you play european opposition
not so famous players but an excelent team.....seeing this video i'm getting sad.....we had the best team.....and they destroy it.......gallas-gudjohnsen-duff-makelele-melchiot-bridge-crespo-ranieri.....where aree these people who make us cry of joy........
haha ooohhh yh wat a game, two english scorers, lampard used to always score at highbury. i love wayne bridge shud neva of sold him, he beta than ash cole. we beat them with ambrosio, melchiot, gronkear jeeze were awesome
@FwankTheTankLampard we can say that as well tbh. we only lost 6 games that season. one of them being this one. if we pulled out a performance that matched the ones we played against you in the league, and finished the job of in true invincibles fashion, the champions league would have been ours. the season after we were beating barca with 10 mean till the 80th min, that team was worse than this one. only if....
lol cmon, lose to monaco? They were good that season but if we met them after having sufficient rest before the game i reckon we would have won easily..dis is the "invincibles" were talkin abt after all.
That was just an odd season. Monaco knocked out Real Madrid and Deportivo knocked out AC Milan. So i just look at it as that was the year of the small teams...Chelsea and Porto beating Arsenal and Man Utd.
this 1 day i will never forget standing in the clock end at highbury that night it was the best night of my life follow follow follow there was only 2 minutes to go it was wayne bridge's that sent us out of control and sent arsenal out the euro
We also had to play Man Utd in the league. Man Utd-Chelsea-Man Utd-Chelsea in the space of 1 week and a half.
At the end of this game you could see the players could hardly run anymore, it was only a matter of time before chelsea scored their 2nd.
We would have won the CL if we'd beaten Chelsea, instead Chelsea go through and get humiliated by Monaco. Also if we'd beaten Chelsea there would be no "special one" as we'd have beaten Porto in the Final. & Mourinho wouldn't have gone 2 Chelsea...
yeah the League meeting that season between Arsenal and Man utd was 1-1 Henry and Saha. But not trying to be funny but i think Monaco would have whooped you lol especially with how brillia nt Morientes was for them
So, please, if you don't know this club, don't pass loose comments.
Have you seen the Flo efforts? The Graeme Le Saux goalline save against Man U? The Zola goals? The Desailly defense? The Petit runs? The Gudjohnsen patience? The Duff dedication? The Lampard perseverance? The Terry resilience? The Joe Cole passion? The Mourinho confidence? The Barca trashing?
You haven't. That's what Chelsea's made of. But you'll never see it. Jealousy and pettiness won't allow you to.
"30 seconds of delirium" is what the great Ranieri called his reaction. I'd say it was 30 seconds of testimony to the fact that Chelsea had arrived forever!
Btw, for those of you booing Ranieri, I've been a Chelsea fan since 1996 and I can damn guarantee that if it wasn't for him, Chelsea wouldn't even have been ready for the legendary Mourinho
For the arsenal and other team supporters commenting on this video - the fact that you're talking about the music, video quality and all the things that don't matter and not the goals Chelsea scored speaks of your jealousy by leaps and bounds.
As they say, it's better to be blind than jealous. At least, when you're blind, it's not by choice that you fail to see the truth.
Does watching re-runs of games like this remind anybody else of when it was great to be a Blue? When it was all still a dream, and our club had a bit of integrity?
Beating Arsenal in this QF was one of the greatest days in our history... didn't it feel so much sweeter than everything does now?
Better than 'Win the league or we sack the manager' anyway.
How can you hate Ranieri? Wonderful human being. It's a shame how he got fired at Chelsea. I still think he deserved another season, but that's history.
Yeah Eidur was a bit of a donkey at times. . . . not too sad he's gone. Miss Crespo and Ranieri tho. That image of the Tinkerman will live forever in my memory. FORZA CHELSEA
I hate ranieiri. He was a total clown. If he had one us even one piece of silverware, or bought more than 1 good player, and not sold all our best player, i would except him. He didnt. I think we need Vialli back as assistant manager.
What the hell! He bought and nurtured such talents as Lampard, Terry, Bridge, Gudjohnsen, Joe Cole, Duff and Robben (who wasn't a Mourinho buy, Ranieri bought him just before he left). He had a good eye for talent, Mourinho is the one who made some bad buys.
i remember this match, arsenal made us their bitches for years and the tides were starting to turn..what a season this was :)
