@Narinye You can pick one up of a ebay for less than $100. It's an Acer Travelmate C100. There's better deals to be had, though, this is now a paperweight with an LCD screen. If I were you, I'd look at getting an ASUS Eee Pad Transformer. They are about $500, and run Android

@Narinye It depends on what you consider "working like a normal computer". If you are looking for a touchscreen tablet that's identical to a desktop or laptop computer but with no keyboard, then the ASUS Pad is not for you. Think of it more as content viewing as opposed to content creation.

@Bartekdex As I am strongly against Apple, I anyhow did concider for an iPad. But there are a few things that the iPad lacks. First of all: It should run normal Mac OSX. Otherwise it's just a big iPhone. Second: It should have more ports; USB, HDMI and Video out (To connect to bigger screen). Have a docking station.

Why is it that either you have all the normal PC-ports, but no 3G, or one have 3G but no ports... (talking about most tablets I've looked up)

I'm getting a laptop like this for my school work and suttin you are right people do use laptops other than to play games. tablets are great for writing chemical equations, writing(without having the bulky notebook), and math equations. Its also great for being organized and to watch movies on the airplane for 11 hours.

naah... tablet pcs aren't THAT expensive... Especially not when considering the alternative. Basically the only way to get something similar (slightly better) is a Wacom Cintiq - and check out the pricetag on THAT!

You CAN DIY a cintiq-like device, but it takes some skill and a lot of time/effort.

The tablet pc also has the nice feature of being completely mobile like a regular notebook. The cintiqs require a powersource.

oh, and notice that if the Tablet-pc uses the Wacom Penabled technology, you got 256 levels of pressure sensitivity. It's far from the 1024 or so levels on an Intous og the cintiq, but there was a video somewhere here on youtube describing that the difference wasn't extremely noticeable. Definately not enough to justify spending almost double (ie. a Notebook AND a cintiq, rather than just a tablet)
