Why weren't there MORE casualties, don't people go to work by 8:30/9? especially in financial where the west coast has been awake for 3 hours. It's almost like the buildings had been cleared out in advance for the demolitions. Why wasn't the paper turned to ash? or burned? what melts steal but doesn't burn paper?

@MrMessydoll Most of the victims were killed by the plane crashes. Those above the crash zone of the North Tower were trapped but the rest of that tower and most of the South Tower were evacuated. The bodies were vaporized by the same high explosive energy that turned the towers and its contents to dust. High explosives don't cause burning and the thermite was applied locally to the steel members. Thats why the paper didn't burn.
