  • she knows that she only needs two or three guys for four boards, not five, right

  • Boards don't hit back-Bruce Lee

  • WHY ISNT SHE BREAKING EGGS IN MY KITCHEN?

  • I've really adjusted all of the blocking and striking techniques so that I never pull my other hand back to my hips. That is way too slow and I will stick with that.

There are many blocks, but the basic structure is based upon these:

    1. High Rise Block

    2. Middle inside block ( which protects your mid section keeping your knuckles about chin level)

    3. Middle Outside Block

    4. Downward Block.

Practice doing them while pulling the other hand back to the chest because that's quicker & hit back fast

  • I've studied a lot of styles, and it depends on the person.

I like Kenpo a whole lot because it's more practical for real self defense.

I like the stance structures better too. For example, in most styles, the front stance is utilized, but in Kenpo, our front stance was changed to a neutral bow which is where you keep your feet at a 45 degree angle and they are a little over shoulder length apart. I use the toe heel method to adjust my stance. I do love the side stance too

  • 5 people, 4 boards?? Nice efforts though :)

  • I say, especially to the ladies, in self defense, forget the tradition of throwing a strike while pulling the other hand back to the hip. It's too slow and awkward. A lot of rapists are mean and very much street wise. When defending yourself, keep both hands up in front of your face and strike keeping the other hand up for a guard. and "learn" what really works and what doesn't and USE what works and throw out what doesn't!

  • @guitarttimman Couldn't agree more. No matter how many martial arts you know, pick 4, maybe 5 moves that really work for you, and perfect them. You don't need any more than that.

  • @mennoace

    very true!

  • @guitarttimman I'm the best ever. I'm the most brutal and vicious, the most ruthless champion there has ever been. No one can stop me. Lennox is a conqueror? No! I'm Alexander! He's no Alexander! I'm the best ever. There's never been anyone as ruthless as me. I'm Sonny Liston. I'm Jack Dempsey. There's no one like me. I'm from their cloth. There is no one who can match me. My style is impetuous, my defense is impregnable, and I'm just ferocious. I want his heart! I want to eat his children

  • @jackfantoe

    words don't hit back! LOL

  • and yes I can tell you every type of blocks and parries!

Mastering blocks and anticipation skills is a major part of the martial arts and very very important. From the street, too, I've learned that utilizing the "boxer's" punch along with martial arts skills is a key factor in winning real confrontation. e.g. a realistic street fight won't throw a punch and hold it their. Basically, i throw jabs when punching.

  • very good. defensive skills are also good.

I remember when A latin chick who has a black belt in takwando was trying to show in front of her friends. I don't fight girls, but block everything she through at me until she got tired and embarrassed. Not that I really wanted to do that, but martial arts isn't supposed to be used to bully people. Unfortunately, later that same girl killed someone and got sent to prison.

  • World Taekwondo Federation.... Biggest McDojangs out.

  • @randomnator In the US they tend to be but other countries can be pretty good.

  • @Easyandy100 Well i can tell ya not in Australia.

  • @randomnator My experience is with Europe that is quite good. ITF dominateds there though.

  • hahahaha.....nice...lol

  • Damn! You got some mad breaking skillz. I hope that your still with it, being a 3rd degree black belt, I'm pretty sure you are! My favorite was your spinning hook kick! I was like VERY IMPRESSED, I have to do a muit-break of four boards for my Red Belt, and I forgot how hard it can become with just one board with out the proper breaking technique. Happy Training! =)

  • great video, stay with it!

  • I had to break two for my Green tag yellow belt test. never thought I would have actually broken it. o.O

  • i had to break 3 for my first degree in tkd

i think maybe i'll eventually be able to do 5

    p.s. im 13 years old

  • @Hjf625 p.s nobody cares so quit trying to be a cocky little boy

  • @RedberetVC i'm not trying to be cocky.

  • @RedberetVC the 13 yr old im sure would kill u with 1 properly placed strike so stfu

  • @FromDaPeg noo.....probably not...who are you?

  • @RedberetVC does it matter? what i said is true! ur juss critizing a little kid n sounding cocky doing it, i had to say something.

  • I just got my black belt in WTF style taekwondo last weekend and the board breaks I did were a Speed break spin hook kick, ax kick(which was really easy), jump back kick through 5 boards and palm heel strike through a 2inch brink.... All that for just my 1st degree! Good job and nice form by the way!

  • that last kick is what i have to do tomorrow when we are having our graduation. but i suck at that kick cause i cant kick in the right spot xD ( i am going to be an orange belt) also i love how all the colored belts are hanging on the wall :P

  • @UltamitChaoBreeder Me 2 about the belts there but nice my next belt is black i can't wait to grading. But we gotta do the ugly koryo poomse and i suck at it :P

  • @thecoolelias lol koryo looks awesome

  • @thecoolelias Koryo isn't that difficult when you take it slowly since it's a meditative form. Just take it slow and steady and you should do fine.

  • @deaurcy Ok fine im good at every pooms exept 4 koryo Im doing the kicks and punches and of course blocking but the slow stuff and to remember it gosh thats hard 4 me lol. I wanna know why I gotta do some of it slow.

  • @thecoolelias Like I said, it's a meditative form so performing it quickly would seem awkward.

  • they needed more wrist/arm support the first time they held the boards

  • really awesome, sucks when you miss though.

  • Nice breaks...and no disrespect intended, but that last break of 4 boards looked to me like a turning side-kick, rather than a back-kick. (I have 25+ years in Martial Arts, but only 2 yrs. in TKD)

  • :40 wow what crappy board holders she has!

:50 WTF!! she didnt even check if the boards were lined correctly!! those guys could have put the grid crossing from each other! ALWAYS CHECK THE BOARDS!

  • im a black belt and i hate it when u dont break a board as you know you can and almost always do!! but then people judge you one this:( this is good breaking:D

  • evelyn wow you are amazing!

  • Hoollyy cooww ! Monster woman ! 4 boards :O lol, Im only orange :P omg my first tourney on may 30 , nervouuuusss

  • Hey Ev! This is Eric, i used to work at TTMA. I think i remember this day!

  • ur 3rd degree? where's the tornado kicks? the flips. nice job on that power back kick tho. I'm a 2nd degree. hey did u break a cinderblock?
