It isn't easy to ride, but you have to know that serious falls like these mostly doesn't happend. Ride and have fun, and if you fall, you fall, but you probably learn alot from it ;D Hope the riders okay. And about the reins; Sometimes you can get a shock when these things happends, and then you might not think about letting go of the reins, and you get scared. They look like they know what they're doing so i won't criticize them.

Whyd don't they just let go of the reins? I can see how it's hard to bring the horse down with you, but your could further injure the horse by hanging onto the reins and it bucking while it tries to get away. Just let the reins go and the horse'll shake it off!

some horses thou (like mine) if you let go of them they tend to bolt and mine doesnt actually come back; hes done it before and was missing for 3 days :/ he jumped out the arena and all.. so now i just hold onto him at the end of the reins - and ive learnt how to fall onto my feet now so its easy to control etc(:

If they let go of the reins the horse would bolt,etc. and could injure the horse further,and it is very hard to drag an 1000 pound horse down with you.
