In Vain amazed me, for me "Mantra" is one of the best 2010 albums. What is strange is the fact that it's so hard to find any info about them in Internet that I might say they' re underground band, but hell their music is awesome that there is no way to call them underground! Enslaved has a huge "rival" now x).

I wish In Vain all best, and hope for more albums!

PS Even previous "The Latter Rain" kicks ass, man the atmosphere is just amazing. Thanks to In Vain it's possible to hear beauty! \m/_

In Vain are an underground band. Yes, their music is awesome, but they're still an underground band. Most of the bands I listen to are what is labeled "underground metal", but it's still fucking awesome.

i respect most of those who have the tenacity and the grit to follow their musical dreams in this country that doesn't support art unless it's selling a business. However, could someone help me understand the vocal style? I feel they could have a powerful song if they chose to be melodic. I don't understand the approach. What style of music is this? Obviously, I will receive a lot of negative feedback from those who don't get that I'm genuinely trying to educate myself with this genre.

@jamesdburt Rooted in metal influences and trying to expand further, is all I can really say. It's just another aural asthetic in my eyes. Adds a particular kind of contrast to the music that wouldn't be there otherwise, I think. There are a lot of bands incorporating music now that could otherwise even be seen as movie-score like and grand and even widely appreciated, minus the vocals. Not sure, just adds a very definitive characteristic to me personally!
