Mich St has always kept their players around the four years and made them good college players. Green this year is a perfect example. I hope that he isn't a "diaper dandy" and leaves after one year. Mich St can't follow in Kentucky's footsteps.
just because he doesnt show it on the video doesnt mean he cant use his left. Hes a 5 star recruit, number 1 SG, im thinking he can probably use his left, and if he can't right now, then you know thats something Izzo will be working on with him.
why would you need to use your left when you can beat your man easily with your right in just a couple of dribbles? come on now, go talk shit when you get a basketball scholarship.
You guys do realize state has built there team around sub par recruiting for decades? State never gets the flashy top 95+ grade players, if state gets a few of these top players, watch out.
Hoping the MSU visit went well. No spots at IU spell good news for the Green and White. Here's hoping that Gary recognizes that Calipari's a cheater, Purdue will never have as good a chance to win a championship as the team MSU is assembling will; The 2013 season should feature a dominant State team mark my words.
@ACDC392333 You mean the top 10 ranked Purdue class that already is ranked ahead of MSU, or the 2013 class behind them that's also shaking out to be pretty good? Nothing against MSU and their track record, but don't be so quick to discount Purdue and Matt Painter. (Agree with you about KY and IU though.)
@pogeegitz Im saying that the team Painter's building (assuming things shake out as expected lol) won't be as good as States. Izzo has a clear direction he's heading, and it looks like he's trying to build the super athletic type team with fantastic outside shooting that he had on his first two final four stretches (99-01 and 05). Also I personally think Painter is the Jamie Dixon of the Big Ten because he just isn't a good tournament in game coach. Izzo's one of the best in that situation.
@pogeegitz I don't discount Purdue, always dangerous in Big Ten season, but (and this is coming from a Purdue fan, after MSU they are my favorite school) come tourney time I just don't see Matt Painter getting them past the Elite Eight at best.
And the State team that Izzo is building is the most talented team I've seen since the 2005 team and btw (obviously it wasn't at the time lol) MSUs class is now number 3. Had he gone to Purdue Im sure theyd be top 5 though.
@boosemax It's not analysts' job to be good players. It's their job to analyze what they see. Gary Harris never goes left, point blank. But, neither did Austin Rivers and seems to be doing ok. Coming from an IU fan, Harris is going to be great. Reminds me of Eric Gordon coming out of high school in terms of size, quickness, and scoring ability. Just maybe not as much range.
@woodsdom20 I never disputed that nor wanted him at IU. We're already going to be VERY, VERY deep at the wing position for the next couple of years. Ya'll enjoy him.
The Ohio State Buckeye's is were it's at Harris if you want to win and go nba. Come join or Dynasty. Your style of play would fit perfect with what we do here.
Harris can penetrate and finish really well due to his athleticism, but I really question the speed of his shot. He needs to get the ball off quicker. In college, no matter where he goes, the defense is extremely quick and pestering. High school games, camps, and such can not mimic the speed of college junior/senior guarding a freshman. He is much more of a dribble drive guy than a shooter.
one question. does the kid know how to dribble with his left hand? more than once in this video he used his right hand to handle the ball when he had a defender on his right side. that might work out just fine in an aau game but it's not going to cut it in college.
@theKCRoyalty the reason he was using his right hand that time is becasue he was going to dunk but the guy cut him off and he can use his left my his highshcool team is are his teams rival and believe me he can go left.
@aleeda5000 Charlie Bell was an All american in high school, started all 4 years at MSU, and is a contributing guard in the NBA and his left hand has been a non factor since the beginning...LOL
@ChrisSmooveismyson wait what? he did the layup right? and you are talking about 100/100 while he did the layup? OMG post a new comment if you played some basketball on your own then you could understand why he did the layup with his right hand...
@Levingodd so what? have you ever played ball on a competitive level? players do this cause they got higher to the basket and aster to the basket with their right hand so the defenders aren´t able to block them ...
@MoSxyxnr24 lol I just got back from Luol Deng Basketball Camp, where have you been this summer? If he had a better left he could have dunked that as he already had an advantage on the defender, in that scenario a left handed lay up would have been better than a right because if the defender was better he could have blocked that. But it doesnt matter, 2 points is two points and i think he got fould there aswell, it is just that that is a difficult lay up to make. he is a great player though
@Levingodd sure you were there and i bet you were the best guy there right? but nevermind i was learning so later on i can earn money so that i don´t have to dream a dream of being a basketballplayer which i could never achieve anyways...
he is what 16 or 17 i will learn how to dunk that shit and how to drive right but the other players also didn´t learn that so far because they are 17 too this is not the nba yet
@MoSxyxnr24 nah i weren't the best player but its a learning process you know, i was put into the best division so that's something, I have no doubt that he will achieve whatever he wants, by next year he will likely be able to drive both ways, i was just showing why he might have trouble to his left atm, but it was only one camp so this might not be at his best, nerves might have caused him to use his right more i dunno. oh and good luck with your studies :)

MSU 2013;
C. Kenny Kaminski: Sophmore
PF. Adrian Payne: Senior
SF. Branden Dawson: Junior
SG. GARY HARRIS: Sophmore
PG. Keith Appling: Senior
Looking good so far

@jcoug123 I agree with the lineup but Payne would be C and Kenny the PF......Payne is 6'10 and Kenny is 6'7.

@jcoug123 No way Kaminski plays Center. Costello is bigger and has much better post moves. KK is a pure shooter, he'll be a three and a four.

ChrisSmooveismyson 6 months ago
@ChrisSmooveismyson well they went in right? ( did you see my last word? :) )
MoSxyxnr24 6 months ago
@MoSxyxnr24 when the defense gets tougher he will need to drive left and finish left to avoid 7 foot centers.
In this game there's no defense so it goes in easily but NBA teams really love players that can drive left and right.
He's predictable, if He wasn't better physically He would get shitted on by defenders
ChrisSmooveismyson 6 months ago
@ChrisSmooveismyson sure he will need to drive and dunk that shit form the left but he is 17 and you guys are talking abou the nba already ... jesus
