  • I have this exact car (in a blueish silver though) and even though it has its problems (oil leak and a few things about to go bad) it still runs great and gets awesome gas mileage for it being 30 years old. about 50 miles on less than a half a tank highway.

  • @toastedCranium It is amazing how many of these Tercels are on the roads here on our small island. My mother in law bought this car new in 83 and now our daughter owns it and drives it daily. It runs perfect. They are very good cars

  • u should tune this car. :)

turbo, custom exhaust, engine rebuild and what not....

    beautiful car! :)

  • @CeeEmmz It's our 17 year old daughter's first car. She goes for her full license today. It was handed to her from her Grandma who bought it new in 1983. It runs like a charm and has always been maintained

  • of course runs good is toyota.by the way my first car was a corolla

  • @christacdc My mother in law's car before this one was a 72 Corolla. They are awesome cars.

  • I love those cars! :) Are they my dream car??? You bet!!! :) You'd be surprised at that answer given there are Lexus', Benz' and everything, but I don't care about those cars! :) I love the Tercel and will keep it forever! :)

  • @terceldude Cooool!! This one is our 17 year old daughter's car. She only has her learners license now and going for her regular license in a couple of weeks. My mother in law bought this car new in 1983 and gave it to our daughter. I was driving it today, runs like a charm. Lots of older ones on our island as well as station wagon 4 wheel drive Tercels. Great cars!

  • @BananaJSSI They are definitely awesome cars indeed and I hope some people begin to realize that! :)) I wish your daughter the best of luck! :) I bet that 1983 one of yours was very well-kept! :) Oh that's very cool, let me know if you know of any Tercel 4WD station wagons for sale or something? :) thanks! :)

  • @terceldude I have been driving it to work daily the past week and I went off island with it last weekend. Our daughter only has a couple of more lessons before she goes for her driver's test. She has her learners license for over a year now. It really is a nice little car and runs great.

  • Keep it as long as you can and maintain it very well! :) How old is your daughter? :)

  • @terceldude Our daughter is 17

  • @BananaJSSI Oh I see! :) Wow, she's two years younger than my ex-girlfriend! :) What a thing! :D

  • @terceldude She should get a few years out of her Tercel

  • @BananaJSSI She should, indeed! :))

  • Great car for your daughter to get plenty of driving experience!!!

  • @annemaree Really easy on gas and small so she'll like driving it. We got it last summer.

  • Good shape for an 83.

  • @MrFrozenCanuck It runs like a charm

  • the baseball bat is called the Banana Joe Curfew Enforcement Unit......... potential gentlemen suitors beware

  • @gangesexcavating That's exactly why I threw it in the the car, but I didn't have the heart to tell Hilary that, lol. I grabbed it threw it in my other car, lol

  • @BananaJSSI nothing makes a guy shit himself like a crazy MF wielding a aluminum bat and no rationalizing, seen it firsthand, lucky I wasnt on the receiving end, the receiver, well, he received alright, spent some time in Cowichan District Hospital. The stuff you see as a young lad growing up in Duncan.

Knock knock, open up the door its real, guy's shittin' himself, hit with stainless steel, lol

  • @gangesexcavating There will be a sticker on the back If this car is a rocking don't come a knocking, windows all fogged LOL.

  • That should keep the guys away no room in the back seat, and a grandma car lol.

A good car for a new driver, good on fuel for your guys 1.50 gas on SSI.

I imagine you have lots of stories to tell when you were 16 and first driving, speeding tickets, putting cars in the ditch, doing donuts and brake stands, girls in the back seat windows fogged up lol.

  • I used to race a lot in Langley on the By-Pass and Latimer Rd. back in the day and of course at the lights. All of my friend have totaled cars or put them in the ditch and even lost their licenses from to many tickets. I have never caused an accident and I have only had one ticket. In July 1981 I was racing down Hwy 99 in my Nova SS to an Ozzy & Motorhead concert and I got nailed. I was doing 90 mph, lol. Told the cop I was testing out my new carb.

  • @BananaJSSI Oh you were probably a bad bugger but that was the era when you were growing up, hot rod cars etc. Today it is text messaging and computers.

  • @BananaJSSI that's an awesome story.

  • @gangesexcavating It was really funny because I was flying down the Hwy heading towards Vancouver and I saw a cop heading south bound on the other side of the Hwy. I said to my friend good thing he's not after us. Next thing you know it that cop went through the connector between the Hwy and was right on my ass, lol. He asked where I was going in such a hurry. I didn't dare tell him I was heading to a concert or he would have checked my car. The carb story went over well. A ticket with 3 points

  • @BananaJSSI awesome, bet you and Razz were wuite the pair as well back in the day, I wouldnt want to have screwed with you two Loco MoFo's ,LOL

  • @gangesexcavating Razz was a wild guy and he had an old Ford Falcon that he got from his granny. He had it all hopped up here on SSI many moons ago. He moved to SSI at least 10 years or so before I did.

  • @BananaJSSI just awesome stories....
