  • Love the CFM 56 engines nd the reversers :)

    Great video

  • wtf how was that a bad landing u morons he flared perfectly i think all u critcizers need to stop smoking ur crap. Great vid 5/5

  • what i call "airbus style reversers" always remind me of a blooming flower. they look like pedals blooming and producing one of the greatest sounds known to mankind!

  • are some one at back crying ?

  • guess what those are 4x A320 engines.

  • BANZAI-landing

  • That's the quietest reverse thrust I've ever heard on any airplane!

  • I have no say about the pilots because I've never flown Cathay Pacific before. Sometimes landings are hard, other occasions they're smooth. The weather must have been pretty windy.

  • To all Future Commenter(s):

The pilot isn't to blame. The Runway is. Soekarno Hatta is notorious for it's bumpy runway, heck everytime i fly w/Garuda Indonesia A330 they do that. Just be aware of what you are writing.

  • @Aipl15 The Runway is also not to blame. I touched down at jakarta 9 times with Thai Airways and it's never hard. Even when landing in Bangkok with the same airline I got 1 moderate landing. I'm uploading a video about me experiencing the smoothest landing and it's in Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta airport.

  • very good video !

  • oh my God, the air brakes was activated before touching the runway with the nose, who's that stupid pilot? Awful landing!

  • it's nothing weird here , everything it's normal, the pilot has to vacate the runway as soon as they landing , because it might be another incoming traffic .

  • Messy...

    1:they landing so bumpy

2:they put the nose so fastly

    3:the runway is so long,about 13000feet...

4:they turn into taxi way so fast.

    =Crazy pilot....

  • All heavier Airbus' like the 330 and 340 tend to pitch down rapidly on touch down. If you take a look the gear layout is radically different to a Boeing which most people are used to. Hence a normal landing seems strange, btw the landing wasn't so bumpy, the rattling sounds were cabin noise.

  • how come they were so fast when they started to enter the taxi way?

  • uhh...they fergot about the Thrust Reversers for a sec ther. =/ If they are still engaged below 60 Kts.... the engines will get damaged.

  • whats wrong with engine 1 on the left?? it looks that its bent upwards

  • I know.

  • wierd.

  • even 50 years old captain sumtimes will make this kind of landing

  • cathay pilot's never make good landings! All landings from them r hard

  • how much did you flight to say that stupid thing? Or let me tell you something else, did you was so bad lucky to fly just with this kind of pilots as in the movie above?

  • but i said he made a bad landing!!WTF????

  • I'm sorry I was so tired I thought that you are talking about all pilots in your message:

"cathay pilot's never make good landings! All landings from them r hard ". I'm sorry, I see now that you are talking just about Cathay.

  • That's ok

  • "cathay pilot's never make good landings". If you judge a pilot on his landings to your clearly "expert" opinion and standard you are a true passenger with no clue.

  • @gnarkillkicksass no pilots make perfect landings

  • @gnarkillkicksass can you atleast fly a plane

  • @10aagun I'm doing an airline cadetship now. Only have about 90 hours but a hour in the air would count for a hundred sitting in front of flight sim and arguing on youtube.

  • @gnarkillkicksass

Hey, I think Cathay's pilots always do a great job. EVERY PLANES' landing VARIES because of the wind speed, the turbulence and even the viability. In this airport, you can see that the runway is NOT black in colour, not make up of CONCRETE. Therefore, the plane lands very shakily. Just be aware of what you are writing.

THUMBS UP if you agree what I say.

  • @karsten11111 I agree Cathay pilots (other than SOME of the local cadets I learnt with) are good - as far as RWY surface goes, concrete CAN mess things up like in Australia because dead grass either side but in something that is big and IFR like an airliner, even if your landing vis you aren't looking at the runway on flare - Peripheral vision and eyes to the end - but it depends on A/C. The only issue would be how rough she is not the material or colour of RWY - its all certified the same.

  • @karsten11111 But yes concrete has joins that make it a bit noticeable to pax : ) my first job was on RH seat of a ATR 42 and when we into the old Bangkok and that thing gets you airborne again! I feel bad for the F-5 Thai Air Force guys flying out of there! Thats more of the slabs sinking into silt though. New one in Bangkok I hear is good, just too far from town but they will have crew hotels up soon at the airport.

  • I've never seen the reverse thrust buckets open on an A340 till now and it look absolutely awesome!

  • good landing!

  • That was a very hard landing!
