I'm bad at treasure hunting...I've had the game for a year and a half and I just completed the steel train. I do have some random parts, though, like the skull cannon or wood passenger car...actually, that's everything I have, because I was a noob and sold EVERYTHING I could get my hands on.

Getting the regal rings and alchemy stones were easy cuz they were part of the quest. the mystic jade and the ancient coin were the ones that drove me crazy. i resorted to using prize cards to get them, but it was still annoying because the prizes were different each day.

Yeah I had an emulator of spirit tracks and a game for it and I found huges differences in the treasure finds. I may have trouble finding an item in one game while in the other I have like 10 of that item. I personally have trouble with the palace dishes overall ^.^'

I personally favor the dragon set over the over-rated golden set. The dragon freight car and passenger car really sets that set off. The golden one, other than it being gold, has no real flair to it. In my opinion, it's just the default set painted gold with a 'church bell' for a whistle. :P

I got the Steel Train my favorite one first then the wooden train then the Gold train and I just need the freight car to finish the skull train I got both wood and gold and most of the skull the same day. I beat the boss with the gold but its actually quite easy to beat him with any train

Wood Train = Easy

Steel Train = Medium

Dragon Train (Literally a dragon) = Mediumish

Skull Train = Easy and Medium (For the parts...)

Treat/Junk food Train = Hard

Gold Train = Imfockingpossible

Spirit Train = After you visit the tower of spirits (1st time)

Normal Train = u only get this when you start the game >.< (this is actually wood train)

I got 3 new train parts in mine from the trading post, but that's only because I had enough treasure for these 3 parts. I got the Steel Engine, Wooden Cannon, and Wooden freight car. That's all I got. I might just hack all the rest of the sets. The reason why is because it takes forever to get all the other parts by just giving linebeck your treasure. So, I'm just going to hack all the other sets. It'll be so much easier.

there are so many Pirate Necklaces it's like a freaking prank. I walk into the tower thinking, "Now I can finally get that chest on F17!" I walk in there, bravely scale the pit to the chest and was like, "Please be a Dark Pearl loop..." and guess what wasn't in the chest, yet replaced by a freaking necklace?!

@Chayraz2 If you are having trouble finding any mystic jades, you can go back to the spirit tower later on in the game and get to places and chests you couldn't get to back then, or you can do the pirate hideout minigame. Or you can come to NC and tag mode with me, I have like 20 of all the rare and ultra-rare stuff.

@Chayraz2 I heard you can find lots of mystic jade at the Tower of Spirits. There were some chests in there you couldn't get on your first run, and supposedly some of them hold mystic jade. I haven't checked that myself (cuz I'm too lazy), but you should check if it's true.

you have to be lucky enough to have a regal ring on the prize board and alchemy stones there to not arcane stones

@chuggaaconroywatch actually if you deliver dark ore to linbeck his force gem opens up an area that allows you to obtain unlimited regal rings, as for alchemy stones, i think there are four areas you can get one such as slippery staion, and snowfall staion.

@Backwardskey Some people's games get more items than others. I had no problem finding any of the items except star shards, which I had to get from a friend even after opening every single chest in the game and doing all of the sidequests, etc.

@Backwardskey lol i practically trip over dark pearl loops, it's mysitc jade and, get this, DEMON FOSSILS that i can never find! you can buy dark pearl loops from castle town and other shops. demon fossils are sopposed to be extermely common but i never find them, not that it matters, the golden train leaves the others fairly redundent.

I like the method of getting train parts better than in the last game. In Phantom Hourglass, it was very random which parts you could get at what times. It took me forever to finally get the last golden part in that game. At least here, you get to choose what you get.

a:regal rings can be obtained from the lost at sea station, after getting 5 dark ore to linebeck.

b:the area in the village appears after you get the golden compass from the tower of spirits. it leads to the final battle.

and finnaly c: at least you could get the boat part for free from treasure minigames or the ocean kings temple. here, you cant get duplicates and need to atain treasures to purchase them...a drawback im sure. and were did the wi-fi go?

If you keep getting 2nd place heres a tip

keep putting in 1 postcard and switch date, then keep losing until u lost 2 times, the more lose's the more chances of getting 1st prize

You're kinda right. the prize postcards don't have chances in the English version because you just have to put in 15-20 postcards to win 1st,snd or 3rd, 7-10 for 2nd or 3rd and 1-6 for 2nd or 3rd. Well at least that's the way i figured.:P
