If the old paint is peeling or flaky, u need to remove the old paint job, then add primer and undercoat b4 painting. The goal is to make your new paint last for many years to come and not easily come off. Also apply a matt sealer when you r done.;-)
Needless to say, you're an incredible painter. I first discovered you with your Legolas project. I was hoping this one would be edited the same explaining the colors. When you were"rendering" that was the phase of the painting that really brought it to life. What were you doing during that part of it? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks Jim. I''ll get the colors up soon. The rendering part was very much like the Legolas vid. I added a bit more explainations in the Legolas vid recently, so check dat out when u r free.; )
that is absolutely amazing! But why does the figure start out shiny gold, it seems a little odd to have a nice gold figure and then prime and paint it. but your version looks soooooooo much more like the real thing! awesome job!
I really enjoy watching a skilled figure painter in action.. I get to see some brilliant figures at the club every time we have a meeting, but never how they make them, only the finished figurine.. :) So this was a treat!! :) Went to the beach today, but before that I popped in to the modelshop there, and came out with 3 kits.. wasn't going to buy anything this week, but hey.. they had very good prizes indeed, it would have been a SIN not to buy anything.. :)
Nice figure (i also got it, but the dress is a bit more blue at mine). How did you make the base? The gate/diorama. So awesome!

Any tips for repainting plastic minis(such as the Wizards of the Coast D&D and Star Wars minis).
Do you suggest primer and undercoat before repainting?

It's always a 'dangerous' journey if u pop by a modelshop when you have nothing in mind. You'll get a million ideas when you step in.;-)

Good vid, but the music was a little distracting.
