only american citizens or people physically in america are guaranteed due process under american law. if youre captured in a combat zone you fall under the guidelines of the geneva convention which is much different.

you have absolute proof that the prisoners at gitmo are innocent? of course you dont. you have proof that US soldiers are murdering innocent people? of course not. theres a difference between HUMILIATING some one (which is what happened at gitmo) and PHYSICALLY TORTURING someone. as far as innocents being killed, well, aiding and abetting attacks on US soldiers means youre no longer "innocent". it means youre an "active belligerant" and can be considered hostile.

As for Guantanamo, those prisoners were not American so they do not have the same rights, second they never entered the U.S so they are also not entitled to the rights of American prisoners. By all rights we could classify them as combatants out of uniform and execute them on the spot.

1) The democratically elected government we built for them went ahead and renewed major oil contracts with Russia so youre wrong on the count.
2) were not the ones setting off car bombs in the middle of crowded markets, you want to blame someone blame the insurgency.
3) We had every legal right to invade Iraq, after desert storm Saddam signed a treaty allowing UN inspectors into the country, he didn't honor his agreement.

The US government does not want this war to end.
