AAAAAAAAAAAAH that's so sad to see Lisa so homesick! This is what seperates cartoons from the last millenium from now. There more sincere and from the hart.
I felt almost as sad when my past was gone as I feared where my life as a cartoonist would lead me.
I think this might have been the first episode I saw, did this episode contain a scene earlier where she says she liked Basket Ball, and someone answers "We don't allow Basket Ball, in a forrest..."?
Lisa = hottie!!! I'm 19 and I still think she's the hottest cartoon character I've ever seen. Anyone who wants to date me must have the exact same traits as her! (If any male attempts this, I'll call the police.)
lisa lougheed, singer/dancer/actress supreme, played the role of Lisa Raccoon and also sang the songs as well as the theme "run with us". if any are interested, check out Lisa's music video for "run with us"
I've never really watched much of the Raccoons, but seeing bits and pieces like this (as well as catching the odd rerun on Boomerang) makes me realise why this show is so cherished. :) That, and I just adore the songs. Lisa Lougheed FTW. :)
I wonder why the only childhood memory I have of this show is me crying while watching it...?
This was one of my favorite episodes of the Raccoons. When I saw the flashback of Lisa's memories it remindd me when I played basketball in middle school, going to my senior prom, and hanging with my best friends.
Also, there should be no problem with having a crush on Lisa, she does seem to put out, and it's also a shame she and Bert never really got the time not the chance to connect.
You know it's really silly that "family groups" would keep this off the air, the whole point of the show was to teach us kids about those values, that's why a lesson was learned at the end of each episode, like the episode with Lisa smoking, what did we learn about peer pressure and the problem with that is what?
@Angrychineseblogger I honestly cannot recall ANY good cartoon or TV series in the 00s!! My sister and I made a list of everything from the 80s and 90 that we liked. We stopped at around three hundred each decade. Even branching out into the 50s, 60s and 70s... decades we weren't even born in. But not ONE thing from the last decade. What does that tell you? The "music" industry is even worse then that.
Yeah, Standard and practices probably wouldn't allow anything like the Raccoons nowadays. The fact that Sneer and Lisa were both shown smoking would probably get it booted of of most networks.
It's getting pretty bad now, there's so much pressure from neo-con and "family" groups that that some networks simply don't dare show stuff that was OK a few years back.
I'm not a Canadian, but I will say this was one of my favorite series on the Disney Channel. It's a travesty that the children of this generation are withheld from how great cartoons can be. This would be a magnificent prom song, no doubt about it.
It's never mentioned who he is. He appears only in this one episode and only for the amount of time shown here, and is not mentioned elsewhere. Presumably he is an ex-boyfriend from the city as the whole scene is essentially about Lisa missing old friends after moving away.
Question: who was that Raccoon she was dancing with? Was it an ex boyfriend? I haven't seen much of the series. Btw, the song is beautiful. Wish the seres came back in america.
Lisa lougheed (Lisa raccoon) also sang the songs on the raccoons as well

This was always my favourite episode of the Raccoons, Lisa was my first crush in the very early, 90's I even use to dream about her.

As a furry fan and a Canadian, it was this scene that showed me just how much The Raccoons changed to something so special.
Lisa is a beautiful character on so many levels!

Yeah, that did always tick me off about cart-
oons. Fox would always make you think Fry an-
d Leela had finally gotten together on Futur-
ama, then the next episode they'd be magical
ly back to the 'just friends' status then ba
ck to doing the same 'go out with me' 'no we'
re just too different but i really like you
as a friend' dance. what you call a pothole
classic.

A far superior cartoon to most of the junk that's around nowadays. Does anybody remember the name of this episode?

This was from Moving In, where Lisa and Bentley first move to the forest

It just shows how 'grown up' this cartoon was; it had some very sad stuff in it- which is why it was so good...

I meant that tall raccoon(not Bert)Lisa was dancing with in what appears to be a prom night.
