It's a great game, but I found it to be really difficult! I didn't even get passed the Prinny boss battle! It kept doing it's barrage attack on my party which annoyed the hell out of me! >=(
THe strategy I used was Ayatane, Morrigan/Miko, York, and Aurica. using their sonic burst combo and Aurica's Flambe on the Prinny and sahagins in the back. if you skip your first turn you double up on the next. you can easily take out the sahagins, heavily damage one crab and prinny, and damage the other slightly. trust me.
The copy of Cross Edge I played was my friend's. I didn't even know what it was, but I saw it had Etna on it so I played it. I just loaded quickly so I didn't know what difficulty I was. I started around before the Prinny boss fight. Man, that penguin owned me. It got me so many times that I quit. I didn't understand the menu system, so it was difficult. It's a great game, but it really made me frustrated!!

Think about it, If Switzerland had so much gold, why woudln't Hitler just invade and take ALL of it, instead of only 6 billion of it if an invasion were plausible? That's what he did with every single other country in europe, after all. Even parts of the british isles were occupied by Nazi troops, so only switzerland remained untouched.
Yet another mediocre RPG for this generation of games it really seems. This isn't even good for what it is. The least the devs could've done is made some more superb looking backdrops.
They could've added better cut scenes to express the game. It was fine when the Disgaea games did this back on PS2, but you have a PS3 now that can handle insane amounts of things for making a game.
This game is a slap in the face for RPG fans. Game devs need to get with the times and deliver us more.

Gameplay wise its very fun, comes out in may for ps3 English, was going to be march but the voice overs are taking a little longer then anticipated but it will be out before summer hits I hope.

For a ps3 game, these sprites look like pure shit.
They should have made it for the ps2 if they were not going to take advantage of the hardware like KoF12 is doing. It would have been a better idea as production costs would have been a lot less and actually coding for it would have been a lot easier.

Oh. Well in that case, its completely acceptable. :O sorta...the sprites COULD look better though.
I thought they were doing what they did with Disgaea 3 and make pretty much virtually no graphic improvements from the previous disgaeas, yet release it on the ps3 for no reason(even at $30, it wont sell on the ps3 and it did'nt).
Well the way I see it, I already HAD a PS3, and I wanted to try Disgaea 3 because I loved the other 2, and I got it. Graphically, the sprites are a bit smoother and higher res on Disgaea 3, with a lot of the more basic attacks a lot prettier. It was more about battle mechanic improvements.
I always loved the Disgaea seres graphics and saw no need to pixel whore out on the series. I think Sony just expects you to get a PS3 at some point.
Well ofcourse. Sprite artists has done hours of hours of hard work just to make tons of tons of shitty sprites while they could have just turn everything in to 3D in less amount of time.
Pfft... Who gives a shit about fun factor either? Or playability.
There's no appreciation left anymore, people just want prettier graphics and substance is given the shaft as it were. As pretty as all of these PS3 and 360 games look, I've only gotten more than 30 hours out of one of them, Valkyria Chronicles, as opposed to the 20 hours I Might get out of other current gen games. Pit that against the hours I've gotten in PS2 and PS1 games and it's not even close.
I have this one pre-ordered, can't wait to get Morrigan.

Etna face to face with Morrigan...demon lord of the Netherworld (second in command) clashing personalities with the Queen of Makai...dreams really do come true. Now if only we could get this game to come to America (and come in quality) another game comes out like Chaos Wars and heads will roll.

For a ps3 game, these sprites look like pure shit.
They should have made it for the ps2 if they were not going to take advantage of the hardware like KoF12 is doing. It would have been a better idea as production costs would have been a lot less and actually coding for it would have been a lot easier.

Oh. Well in that case, its completely acceptable. :O sorta...the sprites COULD look better though.
I thought they were doing what they did with Disgaea 3 and make pretty much virtually no graphic improvements from the previous disgaeas, yet release it on the ps3 for no reason(even at $30, it wont sell on the ps3 and it did'nt).

Well the way I see it, I already HAD a PS3, and I wanted to try Disgaea 3 because I loved the other 2, and I got it. Graphically, the sprites are a bit smoother and higher res on Disgaea 3, with a lot of the more basic attacks a lot prettier. It was more about battle mechanic improvements.
I always loved the Disgaea seres graphics and saw no need to pixel whore out on the series. I think Sony just expects you to get a PS3 at some point.

Well ofcourse. Sprite artists has done hours of hours of hard work just to make tons of tons of shitty sprites while they could have just turn everything in to 3D in less amount of time.
Pfft... Who gives a shit about fun factor either? Or playability.

I agree with Viviinu.
There's no appreciation left anymore, people just want prettier graphics and substance is given the shaft as it were. As pretty as all of these PS3 and 360 games look, I've only gotten more than 30 hours out of one of them, Valkyria Chronicles, as opposed to the 20 hours I Might get out of other current gen games. Pit that against the hours I've gotten in PS2 and PS1 games and it's not even close.
I have this one pre-ordered, can't wait to get Morrigan.

Huh? My most favorite part about video games are their stories. Graphics come second.
Like Final Fantasy XII. I watched my play through the entire game and I realized that the story was not to good. So I've never even beaten the game.
For XBOX 360 games...
Lost Odyssey had a fun story. I never beat it because my brother moved out AND I was to excited about the other games. (Infinite Undiscovery, Last Remnant, Star Ocean)
Infinite Undiscovery. Amazing game. Last Remnant. Best RPG on the 360.

Whoa. I never even thought about the gameplay. Okay. Now it's different. Stories are my favorite part about a game, gameplay is my second favorite and graphics are third. Thanks to graphics being third I can enjoy any games as long as the story is great.

Ok people, I've searched far and wide (or tried to) to find out more about the outfits in this game. They claim they have over 100 outfits, and I saw a changing sequence on the main website. Does ANYONE have any videos, pictures, or information about the character outfits? Or are they really not THAT important? If people have beaten it 3 times over, is the "fan service" not all that special or what? Thanks in advance!

Etna face to face with Morrigan...demon lord of the Netherworld (second in command) clashing personalities with the Queen of Makai...dreams really do come true. Now if only we could get this game to come to America (and come in quality) another game comes out like Chaos Wars and heads will roll.
