  • ok...dis was a little ott if im truly honest. you never once mentioned the setting up of workhouses, the public works scheme, granting outdoor relief to people. dont get me wrong. I would never dream of defendin d british govt. and would never condone their lack of adequate measures to combat the famine. But it's a little unfair to say that they did ABSOLUTELY nothin and that their main aim was to force us to leave Ireland! you make it sound as if they deliberatly planned d famine r something!

  • I apologize. I should have displayed more clearly. This video was part of a history presentation which I was assigned to make.

    I was told to argue that the Famine was a deliberate policy of the British government.

    It was supposed to be bias.

    I agree with you, the measures were inadequate but they did make attempts to combat the famine.
