this is how i see it,

sat down on floor rolling backwards = a back roll

flippin backwards using hands= flip

jumpin backwards 360 degrees and landing on feet using no hands = back somersault.

like when your on the side of a swimming pool and people say do a back somersault into the water ,do you use your hands ?

@neilhd100 today at cheer practice I was doing a standing tuck and landed on my knees I didn't pull or anything cause I forgot what I was doing but you should make it around no matter what you'll just land on your knees but mine was on hard wood floor and it hurt so I wouldn't recommend that maybe in the grass though If you know how to do it?
