I got by lighting during a storm, while at a stop sign in my truck. Not a good feeling!!
First, for a split second I couldn't see anything but white, I could feel the hair on my arms rise up, then there was a loud bang as if someone shot a gun next to my ear, and I felt a surge go through my body. After it happened my heart was racing, I was disoriented, and my ears were ringing. Even though all that stuff happen in less than a second it felt slow motion to me.
@KingP1n81 actually wrong, the people inside are save cause the car acts as a metal cage, rougting the electricity around them and not into them, tires provide NO protection at all that is just a myth.
electricity follows the path of least resistance to the ground, so it flows through the metal body of the car and makes its way to the ground, most likely jumping down from the lowest point of the vehicles undercarriage, it would not have harmed the engine, electronics, or any inhabitants of the vehicle, so long as they weren't touching the metal surface of the vehicle
That was likely a lightning splash, not a direct hit. Still, what are the odds of hitting a moving vehicle? I should imagine he's electrics would have been fine, but he would have momentarily lost all power. Nice catch.
thats awesome
