A study showed that cyclists take more risks if they have a helmet on and that drivers are less careful around cyclist with helmets on. So wearing a bicycle helmet actually has a negative effect on behavior.

Having slammed into the pavement at 18 mph on my bike recently, I sure would like to see more helmets in use both in Long Beach and in Amsterdam by riders of ALL ages!

I'm dutch, ive been riding a bike pretty much my entire life and i have NEVER been in a situation where in the end i thought maybe i should have been wearing a helmet.. neather have i seen alot of other people fall hard or anything. so i guess ur just a little clumsy, not everyone should ride a bike.. lol. and if u put it like that, i think it would be safe for some people to wear helmets all the time

I’m from Holland and 53 years old, going on bike every day. Living in a little village my daughter had to go to high school 10 km from home and did this on her bike. Fuel is very expensive here. We have cycle path’s that makes it saver and have different bikes.
