sorry but i AM a true fan of kingdom hearts but this barely sounds like kingdom hearts. it just sounds like some sort of scale and a bunch of redundant notes. also the song goes of tempo a bunch of times, and ya.
The notes "overlapping" is a real musical thing. One of the instrumental pieces in "South Pacific" has the same sound. It's what happens when one half of the instruments play one time signature, and the other half plays a different one. So, say one half plays 3 4 (waltz), and the other half plays 4 4 (foxtrot).
i have to disgree with everyone here for the most part o__o believe me, ive got the same incredible connection and love for this song as the next person, if not stronger and more in depth.. but i really understand what he was trying to acheive here, and i think its extremely well done. no, it doesnt sound EXACTLY like dearly beloved, no it doesnt carry the same mood or beauty, but it certainly is serene and it has a very nice complicanted-yet-simple twist to it. i think its very well done. :3 <3
i do like it, but the rhythm, the note order....just feel weird....dearly beloved is the song that made me calm and serene after breaking up with my girlfriend of three years.....this makes me feel a little uncomfortable when I'm already in a good mood. I'm not saying that the song should be the exact dearly beloved bc that's not what it was meant to be but I feel the song would be better if it only altered or modified the mood or feel of a song, not change it completely. Still good, not great.

I find the harps notes play a bit fast... They should be slower, and there probably should be less notes~ It sounds a bit too pieced together, not invoking the same feelings as it should~ A good try~
At the beginning you could hear little bits and pieces of it scattered all over the song... with a bunch of additional notes in between the orginial ones.
@papershirts you can hear a resemblance if u listen hard enough. it takes the original and basically adds to it. consider this: if music is an art(which it is) this would be considered an abstract(which it seems). begin appreciations. ;-P

i play piano and ive been in choir for 5 years. dont you DARE say i dont have an idea of music. i can hear every note that is played ;). 0:20 - 1:01 always throws me off. the notes just seem scrambled. the rest is beautiful

Well...if you really think about it, the kh plotline is accessible to anyone who has played the first and second, or even just the second. It's just, without the games in the middle, you miss a lot of plotline. And for me, since I enjoy these games so much, well, I consider them sort of like goodies and I don't wanna miss out.

whoa it took me a while to find any similarity between this song and dearly beloved... i like the song, but i'd be kinda mad if they really used this for dearly beloved in game, simply because of how different it is.
Umm...the melody to this version, it's a bit faster, and a bit choppy. I DO like the melodic patterns you tried to implement, but....in the end, it turned out a liiiitle worse than I expected. Try to lower the tempo.
Perhaps this is from the stand-point of a pianist, but the piano in the original ones made it a bit better....try to implement some more piano, and try to make the original melody a bit more obvious...

Well...if you really think about it, the kh plotline is accessible to anyone who has played the first and second, or even just the second. It's just, without the games in the middle, you miss a lot of plotline. And for me, since I enjoy these games so much, well, I consider them sort of like goodies and I don't wanna miss out.

Actually, Birth By Sleep(Keyblade Wars) is actually more suited to be called a prequal(Spelling...) to KH1, not the next KH...

there is goin to be a kingdom hearts 3 but it wont be out for ages in england i would give it a year maybe because it has only just come out in japan and 358/2 days is usefull to get because it gives you insiders and is good if u want the whole story so you get it

Wrong! The first part of the story was
Birth by Sleep, wich happened ten years before the original Kingdom Hearts, then Kindom Hearts 358/2 Days happens with Chain of Memories going on at the same time, then after is Kingdom Hearts 2.

whoa it took me a while to find any similarity between this song and dearly beloved... i like the song, but i'd be kinda mad if they really used this for dearly beloved in game, simply because of how different it is.

Umm...the melody to this version, it's a bit faster, and a bit choppy. I DO like the melodic patterns you tried to implement, but....in the end, it turned out a liiiitle worse than I expected. Try to lower the tempo.
Perhaps this is from the stand-point of a pianist, but the piano in the original ones made it a bit better....try to implement some more piano, and try to make the original melody a bit more obvious...

I tell you, the one who gives an opinion about this song and also the one who were spammed by the idiots are actually and absolutely right.
Music is NOT about putting notes but one of the MOST important thing in arranging or composing music is making songs that attract people. That means that if you don't feel touched with the song or feel the good music(combination of chords or notes), then that means the song is CRAP. This is the truth.
