@bigpopparamma the loader of the video, asdf, inserted some clips from the original japanese version. At the time, the US version didn't show all of the death and destruction of people. The original japanese version did. ASDF inserted those clips, notice how parts of the video is in japanese but most is in english.
I hear you about the censoring--but the biggest reason it was censored was because cartoons were for kids in the 70's--in Asia, the demographic was much different. Adults watched them, not unlike "The Simpson's" and "Family Guy" today.

Why did they change it in the English version? After all, so many characters - good and bad as well - were killed before and after this episode.
A suicide attack scene in a cartoon would have gotten the show pulled from broadcast. Especially on an Japanese import cartoon. Star Blazers acknowledged it was originally a Japanese production in the credits.

It either wasn't important or cut out, they did cut out Deaths and in the english version.(Including and alteration of Zordar's last scene with Invidia-that I'm happy about though) See the Japanese version of this ep, and you'll see the differences. I really do like this episode though (Next to Ep. 14)
That scene of the Yamato opening up on the Comet Empire one last time, with the dramatic music playing and guns roaring, makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up!

agree a 100 percent.....wildstars "ok......one last time, aim all guns at the comet empire, all guns!" followed by the all out missle/shock cannon/torpedo attack on the fortress is my favorite part of any starblazers season....in fact, being a celtics fan, as the celtics pulled away from the lakers tuesday night, i turned to my wife and said..one last time, aim all guns at the laker empire....all guns! she just stared at me in blank confusion :)
I am also confused. Why would he invite them all on board and then shut the door on them. It does not make any sense that the English Dubb would say come on and not cut it. Instead it shows the Japaneese full extended version and Zordar Leaves them. HMMM.
In the Japaneese version, it really does not say that he invites his daughter & the 2 generals on board. It says that he leaves them. Then the door shuts and Princess Invidia punds on it begging to be taken. I love Star Blazers. Next episode Zordar gets what's coming to him.

When you see the original version of what Sgt Knox really did it's not quite the same watching the heavily edited version. "Knox got out right behind you", yeah right! :(

The english dub version is quite censored. The more violent scenes have been removed. And the voices aren't as good as in the Japanese version.
