My V1 picks up the Stalker with no problem. If you are talking about LIDAR, its much harder to detect, and usually if your detector alerts to it, its usually announcing that your getting a ticket. The problem can reduced by driving with someone speeding in front of you and a laser jammer. The 65 Mph speed limit is the problem. The limit should be set according to the scientific '85th percentile' rule. 85% of the drivers know whats best for conditions, not a politician setting an arbitrary #.
I use an Escort Solo S2. It's probably the best I've used so far. The range is terrific. After the initial warning buzzer, it goes softer so it isn't as annoying.
This video shows why the V1 is regarded as the "king of highway detectors". A person using a normal detector wouldn't have known there were 2 patrol cars. The V1, with its directional arrows and bogey counter gives more info and tells you there are multiple threats and where they are. If you ever drive with a V1, you will never want to use another detector. Ive been a RD user for about 20 years.
Whatever man, if you hear your RD go off your gonna slow down and play it safe regardless of how many bogeys there are.I mean it is nice to know but its not essential.
I have a V1 (3.861) and it also has phenominal Ka performance against the 34.7 Stalkers. It beeps long before I can see the cops and the arrows are very accurate. Check out the speedcheetah gps mirror with its radar detector interface if you want to quiet your V1 down.
That's I-15 Southbound, near Halloran Summit, apx. 17 miles east of Baker. Been on it many times.
CHP uses "instant-on" radar that won't emit a signal until the officer flips a switch. Looks like these guys in the desert don't bother to use the instant-on feature. Plenty of cherries to pick!
My radar detector was stolen out of my car fifteen years ago and I never missed it. Just drive the speeding limit (or thereabouts) and you don't have to worry, eh?
EH, worrying is for canadians driving pontiac grand ams. For the rest of us in real cars, we buy radar detectors so these so called policemen don't waste our time.
there were joshua trees in the center divide, probably the I40 around Needles, or on the SR62. That annoying sound that thing makes would drive me insane!
Both the Spectre and the VG2 function by detecting the small amount of RF radiation that the oscillators of a radar detector emit. Thus they are able to detect not the detector, but the oscillator inside the detector.
Damn, that thing is good! did you see the driver of that dark car (Honda?)that was too busy trying to pass someone to see the CHP car until the last second? Do the police have anything to detect the detector yet?
Yes, there are primarily two devices available to law enforcement that are able to detect a radar detector. The first is the Spectre and the second is the VG2. To understand how they operate, you must first understand how a radar detector works. The radar detector requires a small oscillator in order to detect radar (don't worry, that's as technical as I'm going to get).
that v1 picked that leo up from a long distance! great!

Actually we can scramble those. Plus I would have pulled you over for operating your camcorder with driving you jackass. Its an easy 11-95..

these are what I call straight pigs no excuase for this.. those kind of roads in the left lane should have no speed limit. period.

I'm more worried about the driver that's distracted with videotaping than the driver that's going a little over speed limit.

Sorry to brake to you guys but now we can scramble those fucking toys

You cant scramble jack, that's against FCC regulations, plus you are not a CHP officer because they don't use profanity. Have a nice day.

the only radar detector that can not be detected by any detector including spectre 111 and vg2 is the bet sti.
