  • probably noone knew this song there but that was pretty sick

  • Omfg, poor Battery...

  • yes!

  • This is an insult to Pink Floyd and Syd Barrett, mostly

  • @nnutth0wze1 fuck off man. yr a douche. he likes the song, he played the song because he likes the song.

  • @nnutth0wze1 how so?

  • @nnutth0wze1 how??

  • Thanks.

  • same voice

  • omfg, i had no idea john frusciante was THIS awesome.

  • i wonder if John likes the classical line up Pink Floyd

  • @k0stil Clearly he does seeing as he's covering the only Syd song from Saucerful of Secrets.

  • I could always see Syd being an elementary school music teacher, dressed all fancy, talking about talking cats and getting all the kids excited and teaching them how to play nice little ditties.

And then when they grew up, those kids wouldn't listen to Lil Wayne or Blink 182, they'd listen to cool shit and make cool shit. And the world would be a better place.

Also, major respect for Frusciante doing this. Jugband Blues is awesome, just wish he had a band for the bridge.

  • @mrfudgeyhead i like the way you think.

  • the fuckhead who yelled out "this sucks" at 1:43 needs to be taught some respect for real music

  • @seantheman121

i don`t think he said that

  • thats just what it sounds like to me lol

  • SYD

  • yea he needs to slow down at some parts but thye arrogant fuck that said that prob. cuz they only knew rhcp songs like under the bridge and their big hits... if he was sitting that close he shoulve been thrown to the back and beatin....PACKIT

  • slow down

  • such a great great song, syd ruled

  • great great great

  • молодец - огурец!!

  • sounds like someone said " this sucked" at he end.

    anyways... good stuff

  • shows how fucked up people are

  • im so drunk and john is great lol

  • why the fuck would you say that? he isn't trying to copy him or anything. he just admires syd barretts work and is honoring him.

  • lol i dunno why i said it should i remove comment? haha

  • man I wish John Frusciante would do a Syd cover album with David Gilmour! Man that wold be awesome!!!!!

  • That sounds like a terrible fucking idea.

  • @sigmundfloyder eemmm, no.

  • well done sir

  • holy shit my respect for john shot through the roof

  • @FatherMcKenize you thought one of the greatest guitarists in the world didn't know about one of the greatest bands in the world?

  • Comment removed

  • John would know all about it

  • This is a great cover!! It's from the heart.

  • Not the same without the British accent. Frusciante is cool, but, he misses the timing and inflections of the original.

    Syd R.I.P.

  • Absolutely.

  • Right on brother.

  • i like it

  • out of tune?

    are you deaf?

  • Kinda is but that adds to the charm. Crazy, looney!!

  • and what exactly is a joke?

  • and what exactly is a dream?

  • publicimage please dont base your opinion of this man by this one video, listen to some Red hot chili peppers, and some other of his solo work, hes an amazing writer and probley the best player around today.

  • Syd was very better than john... he's too fast.

  • go away

  • hes a God...go listen to young jeezy u ass

  • waste of time? i think you know nothing about music, go and listen to all his other music, and his guitar playing you piece of shit.

  • Comon, guitar playing? If he didn't have morons like you putting out money to hear this crap, he'd be living under a bridge. I saw the greats. He ain't great. Syd would have hated this version. And anybody else with a brain.

  • living under a bridge? that's such a pathetic, childish attitude you have.

    i actually download music.

you saw the greats? your idea of the greats would

probably me what all the other mindless sheep such

    as yourself look up.

    you know nothing about music.

    he's one of the greats.

you don't know what syd would think, neither do i.

But i do know that Frusciante is pretty good.

  • and also you're a sheep, yellow, yellow, yellow,

    baa baa baa baa

  • If you are an example of what makes up the John Fruciante fan club, then there is nothing to worry about. Go collect your pop bottles for download money, the rest of us will move on with the real world. Ever hear of Television? Marc Bolan? Move along, didn't think so.

  • or some liz phair or ramones for that matter hahaha

  • Gotta be honest with you...Liz Phair never got full credit for her music. And the Ramones were my parents worst nightmare.

  • I like you

  • And even if he is off give him a break, I mean I'm sure you've played a solo or song out of tune once. I've come to discover the older you get the more patience you should have for others. You should pick that up. He's an amazing guitar player and a humble man I've met him on several occasions, his acoustic show is no way to fully judge him as a guitar player.

  • I hope he didn't try to sing to you when you met him. And please don't even think of comparing an off-day by Bob Dylan to this guy. Really, where's the substance? He gets the break of a lifetime when the "Peppers" hire him to replace another dead drug addict. He wouldn't join Zappa because Frank outlawed all dope use. The list goes on. High school drop-out. Leaves the Peppers. Once said he was proud to be and addict. Admire this quitter? No thanks.

  • I do admite him for quitting heroin and picking his life up from nothing. And he said he wasn't ashamed of his past that he had to go through it but he does not condem anyone to do what he has. It's amazing how some people can be so bitter and even to a degree envious. Do you understand you are making fun of someone who had to do defeat many challenges in his life? How low are you? Grow up accept things. And Public Image sucks by the way, just another 80's has been band.

  • all your facts are just to a level of propaganda only explaining the bad of what has happened in his life. And its people like you that make Bob Dylan bitter and angry. Think about it. Grow up, and show me your musicianship if truly you have been playing for a quite some time now.

  • And that is the difference between me, you and Fruciante. I played (and play) it straight (to quote Jonathan Richman of The Modern Lovers). Didn't need dope, didn't need to wreck my life. Music and other stuff were more important. And I have seen far less talented people than this guy make it and stay there because they had discipline. I'll say this for him: at least he liked Syd's stuff.

  • all great musicians have done drugs..

    I thought you knew that?

4 years ago release 6 albums in 6 months that is what I call discipline

  • Not necessarily, but alot of them did do drugs. Ted Nugent didn't. Fruciante didn't join Zappa because Zappa didn't do drugs and Fruciante wanted to do dope AND be in a band. You are wrong about that. You want to listen to this guy, go ahead. I'd rather paint my porch.

  • Ted nugent could play the guitar but is a jackass! Paint your porch and we'll jam a genius that is JF!

  • Im a little pea I love the sky the trees Im a teeny tiny little ant Checking out this and that I am nothing So you have nothing to hide And Im a pacifist So I can fuck your shit up Oh yeah Im small Fuck you asshole You homophobic redneck dick Youre big and tough and macho You can kick my ass So fucking what -Flea of RHCP, a good friend of JF.
  • Ha ha ha ha ha

  • Let me guess, you're 47 and talking shit to a 22 year old. Ha ha ha ha classy.

  • I could care less about toughness, it's about music. Violence is ignorant.

  • he said that he was proud to be and addict when he was on dope during 1994..

    what do you want?

dylan has written unbelieveble songs and john has done that to..

dylan is a better poet and frusciante a better musician.. music isn't about any competition.its all about the art and by the way he never went to the adition for zappa beacuse he was to nervous.he was only 17.

all he ever wanted to do was play music, is that a crime?

  • man you make me laugh!!

this man was under the clutches of drugs so bad that his one feet was already in the grave..but the man fought it and came back..and what's more he made brilliant music as well.

if you can't appreciate a true fighter and artist then dude your not fit to be anything in life.sorry for you.

  • you don't know anything music nor a musician (assuming you play) because a REAL musician knows one thing that NO ONE deserves to be a critic. So you may not like him, but he is talented, and people do like him. No one is defined as a "great" so you listen what you want because whats good for me may not be whats good for you.

    end.

    Peace.

    Acceptance.

  • Okay, Apple0192, get a grip on your typing, okay? First, I know music. Second, I have played bass since 1984. Third, you're right, what is good for you may not be good for me. And vice versa. If you really like this guy, I suggest you check out music by a guy named Nick Drake. Especially the album, Bryter Layter. Out.

    "

  • Its youtube man, there is worse typing out there. You should get a grip on your ego. I don't care how long you've been playing, I've seen cats play for more than thirty years that still can't hold a groove or create a melody. And yes I have heard Nick Drake and I do enjoy the vibrations he sends out on several occasions.

  • and if you think this cover was bad (which I don't) I suggest you somehow get your hands on some old bob dylan EPs or any live photoage before he made it big. I bet you know bob dylan and his infamous voice, when he did a cover it wasn't the most...sweetest thing you could hear to say the least. But he honestly cared and loved the cover and you could hear that. And John Frusciante does the same here.

  • but now he's back with the peppers, clean, once again is highly against drug use, very healthy, a good singer (despite what you think), and a good guitar player. You're not a real musician if you can't even accept someone's accomplishments and talent that they have even if you don't like it. Show me what you can do if truly you have been playing bass as long as you have been. Because its funny I'm a bass player as well both upright and electric I do jazz fusion, bebop.

  • Get a life! You've been commenting on this for a year now and you don't like it. Waste of two minutes, seems you're very busy...

  • You're racist and prejudice, add that to violent and we have an all around American :). Me, I believe You mean "Site".

  • great song! syd for ever

  • very nice

  • bonita version....
