Are there ANY other F2P mmo's that are apocalyptic!? I got this game, but it's pritty laggy. I play on the lowest settings, max res. I can do med low gfx + strophic filtering, but it's still pritty bad. Ive turned all shaddows, AA, (pritty much everything off through the config.ini file). my CPU is 2x Athon 2.2Ghz - not 2.4. It`s just a laptop.. Im using Gamebooster to save CPU + RAM usage. But it`s still.. meh. - Running ATi Rad HD 4250 Mobility, 4gb ddr3 ram, 256mb vram @533mhz, shaders 4.1.

A completely different game and comparing these to eachother or arguing about whoever was first (fallout 1 and 2 obviously) is like comparing a car to an airplane because the paintjob is identical.

The idea of a mature MMO has been pretty successful in the past, but combined with Fallout 3, there's not alot this could possibley fail at.
The only beef I have with it is the PC requirments. They're high, I'd be ok tho.
This game is pay to play and I pay to play, have a good support with fast bug fixing. All that Item Shop games also called free games that arent free games have bad support, slow bug fixing and you spend more money in a free game (item shop game) than in a p2p game !

In return, you get huge amounts of gameplay hours. For some it seems endless. The monthly fee is usually not that much, 10 - 15 dollars. It costs you 6 -10 beers a month, if you look at it that way. If you really like the game, more than a few beer bottles, its worth it. WoW tho, sucks when it comes tho this. You have to pay monthly fee, AND expansions which seems like a must have. Few other MMO's do it like that, most make expansions for free like a patch.

As for the first FPS MMO - yes, Neocron was technically the first, though one could argue for Project Entropia, as it was available to play in the "Commercial Open Trial" as far back as mid-02. Still, it didn't "officially" have the commercial release until Jan 03.

I've been playing Neocron, Planetside, WoW and tried out lots of wow-like games.
But actually, I can't enjoy wow-like games anymore, because it was always the same: Powerleveling and instance farming for equipment. I hope there is true conflict and action in this game again.

for the record, this game has been in the making for about 8 years! ( This is true I know poeple who work on this game!)
And besides Fallout3 got bought from the makers of fallout 2 and so on. They just bought the rights to the name and stole the game from someone else.

this gave has been in development for so long i lost interest. hopfully they upgraded the combat instaed of making it the generic auto hitting and use skills combat.
