  • @Will1o1o1 they can if u dont have any windows are opened or doors :3 but also DONT let them out until they are kind a handtamed with you.cuz if u want let them back in they would just run away from your hand... ._.

  • @kwokkylover22 u are in the exact situation as me my budgies only like it if u pet it gently on the stomach or it wil bite me also how do i punish such a cute animal for its crimes?

  • @MrCrownvic2003 yehh but im just thinking that if its tamed it probally will already know how to stand on your finger and wont fly away but i thinku can punish by putting the food in front of him and then take it away i will make a video soon so yeh you can check it out later

  • @kwokkylover22 ok ill try the punish ment and ill wait for the vid

  • soooo adorable!

  • what a cutie!

  • um no affence or anything but I don't think your allowed to hold a budgie like that and surves you right that you got bitten!

  • I think that;s a she not a he. Adorable none the less. I read somewhere that when birds nibble ur finger it means they don't like what you're doing, i could be wrong. I used to translate it as their way of getting to know us like babies put things in their mouth to know what it is.

  • Aww,its so cute

  • Can he fly?

  • do you know if they can eat fruit and vegetables at this age? I cant find the answer to this question anywere! if you know itd be helpful please ! :)

  • She is so cute..like a little angel

  • awwwwwww

  • lovey, so cute ...

  • My sons budgie hatched some babies - and one survived. When it was about 3 weeks old, she rejected it. So, he has hand reared it. It loves to be handled, loves sitting on your fingers, picking at your skin, sitting on ya head - it's a really fun bird.

  • this guy is adorable, he looks like looks identical to one i used to have a few years back!

  • my parakeets jonas and michaela never left each others sides but last night jonas (male) died and now his gf michaela is all alone (besides my cat and i) but i am curious as to what to do. any advice, anyone?

  • @CrazyBeautiful824 you may want to get another buddy for her.. once their mate dies they can get depressed and slowly die themselves. of course getting a buddy doesnt always help, but if they get along its some extra company at least. how old is she? younger ones are able to adapt a little easier.

  • @DarkFeenux i've had her for 4 yrs now but i do not know how long she has actually been alive i got both her and jonas at the swap meet (flea market). so i am really not sure of her real age. but she is the same size as when i got her. so i'm guessing shes elderly. and i dont want to give her aways because i want her to be buried with him if she dies in the distant future. but idk if she would take to a new mate. also my cat is attached to them. they r friends. she cries now when near the cage

  • So Cute :)

  • I need some yellow parakeets; all of mine right now are blue or white, and all of my yellow parakeets flew off... Yellow looks so fresh.

  • please reply. my bird is over 11 years old.. and he has had so many lady birds but they all died :'''(.. and now he's trying to mate with my hand sometimes.. and puke on my fingers,, you know this behaviour? he never did that untill now. :/

  • @Vikingbayicepower2

Hi sorry I don't know about that. but you could check out the budgie forum. there are many nice bird experts may able to answer your question

  • @mycraftisland

    the bird is a girl

  • @Vikingbayicepower2 He's trying to feed your hand. He probably did this with his mates. It's a sign of love from a budgie, or just saying "I like you". My bird does it to the "bird" in shiny objects. It's no problem.

  • @Vikingbayicepower2

When they bond to another budgie, they will feed each other by regurgitating into each other's mouths, similar to how they feed the babies. If he's throwing up on your hand and trying to mate with your hand, he really likes you haha xD

  • @Vikingbayicepower2 he doesnt puke, hes trying to feed you. they do that when they dont have another bird as a partner. You should get him one, otherwise he could get pretty sick.

  • @Vikingbayicepower2 He wants to mat with your hand apparently. The puking is regurgitating something birds do to feed their mates and bond with them.

  • @Vikingbayicepower2 I had a bird that did this same thing, I believe he is simply regarding you as his companion now..For birds, puking is a sign of love strangely enough, lol. It's because in the wild, when nesting, the female cannot leave the eggs for long so the male will come to her to feed her and to help feed the chicks when they hatch, and It's just plain affectionate, for them. :) Hope that helps.

  • @Vikingbayicepower2 It sounds like he caught something. Hes most likely is sick and is killing the other birds by infecting them. Mine did the same, four others. Take him to the vet, puking is a bad sign.

  • @Vikingbayicepower2 11 years is pretty old for a parakeet, you know.

  • @Vikingbayicepower2 means they love you lots. Take it as a compliment. They are trying to look after u and love you xx

  • @Vikingbayicepower2 - You are right - yo ujust said it - he IS trying to mate with your hand!

Birds are like that - if they can't be with the one they love, they love the one they're with.

So either he messes with your hand or - you get him a ladyfriend. No other choice as far as I know.

He is not "puking" - birds regurgitate food stored in their gullet to the object of their affections - in this cased,

yes, you guessed it - your hand..

  • @Vikingbayicepower2 search on youtube for cleo the lovebird- there's loads of vids with it in you'll find it easily the person who owns her knows loads about birds and they'll know if you haven't found out yet :) i could just be because your bird has known you so long and is trying to show affection- it might not actually know what other way to show affection for you ... :)

  • @Vikingbayicepower2 i would get a new female budgie. birds need loving too you know.

  • @Vikingbayicepower2 Male budgies regurgitate as a sign of affection. It means he loves you!

he's trying to mate with your hand because he has instinctual mating behaviours. Bird books say that

you can reduce mating behaviours by reducing light to 8 hours a day.

  • @Vikingbayicepower2 he is mating with your hand because he considers you his new mate, the "puking" is a way of showing affection he is trying to feed you. Sharing his love and his lunch!

  • @Vikingbayicepower2 The Lord will keep you safe from all evil; he will take care of your soul.Psalm 121:7

  • @Vikingbayicepower2 go to yahoo answers and write a question and TONS of people will answer

  • @Vikingbayicepower2 My bird had the same problem, it was kinda gross but he lived longer and was more tame I believe because of it, its gross but it kept him active.

  • looks like a girl!! im a boy

  • @snowballthepreetyboy i have a boy

  • awww that is sooo cute nice color... =^_^=

  • He is totally scared -.-

  • @PCSell2008

She was a baby back then, very slow. But she is still very tame. occasionally she gets moody at night and bite me.

  • @mycraftisland Mine does the same thing!

  • Please reply.

How can you get your budgie to be used to you holding it? It already goes on my hand and stuff but it doesn't like it when you hold it.

  • @CoolParakeets

Not all budgies are tame. this is the only one would go on my finger and let me hold her. Most would only stay on my finger for a while

  • @mycraftisland It seems like only the females tolerate being handled like putting the bird in your hand, and gently closing it... my female is tame but was tortured by a 5 year old who "took care" of it as his own pet... I rescued it from a friend, and she's as sweet as could be, but has random crazy biting fits on my fingers. She used to bite hard but now only gently attacks me. Now, my male just enjoys sweet violence (beating up my thumbs, biting my nose sweetly, etc). Cute video :)

  • @CoolParakeets All budgies are different in what they will put up with, especialy if the are not hand fed from birth. Some will let you hold them a short while, then protest. This is the first one I have seen that doesn't struggle when their legs aren't supported.

  • It's so cute, my budgie just died this morning and I am feeling really cut up about it. We had her for 8 years and she was really precious. The tragic thing is that the other budgie we have keeps looking for her. Make sure you treasure and love him as much as you can.

  • Aww how cut i want like another one so bad and

    they are so sweet

  • My male does 90% of the work . My female just layed the egg in the SIDE of the cage? And sometimes warms the egg. I only see one egg she layed. Is it possible to lay one egg and it to not be infertile. They are being good parents but is the egg going to hatch?

  • probably not. I got a pair did that as well and nothing came out.

  • @MegaOwlLover if u cant tame them start off with basic training that thy should know already

  • My bird looked almost like this when I got him. So cute!

  • awwwww, what a cutie <3

  • hard to tell sometimes as birds have different personalities. not all my birds are tame and some are not. give some time. try to feed them by hand, slowly they'll love ya

  • hey please anser soon

how much did you buy yourbudgies for each,i have 4 and i bought them when they where babie for £40 each, also may vary if your in a different country,im from london

  • Do NOT hold a budgie like that, it confines them and scares them...

  • This Sunday, mine COMES!!!!!!!!!!LOVE YOUR VIDEO :D:D! But sorry for writing with huge letters but i'm very excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @AlexMangekyo

Congrat! they are really cute. sometimes like kindergarden kids. fight over for space and food.lol

  • OMG!!! your baby is so amazing! my baby turning 6weeks, its a lovebird.

  • Cute :)

  • Do they stink

  • @Residentevilfan500 Not unless you let their poop pile up on the bottom of the cage. It will start to smell like urine. But they themselves are very clean and don't have an odor.

  • hey, your budgies so cute, I just got two budgies 3 days ago and i think they are both male, they both have blue cere's.

can I still tame them even though I haven't had them since birth? they ate out of my hand yesterday so I think thats a plus.lol.

  • @angel38325

Hi yah. try to hand feed them. they will come to you eventually. males are easy to train.

  • dont hold it like that

  • He's lovely, I'm hopefully getting a budgie soon :) but doesn't that hurt when he bites your finger?! :L

  • how do you determine its gender at 4 week old?

  • @jjyanson

in that case, you should get a male. they don't bite!

  • Bullshit they don't!

  • Very cute n tame ;)

  • @John66490

Congrat! my bird is getting so evil now. she just fought with her mother yesterday. her mom's head was injured. they were both fighting for the same male!

  • HE IS SOOOO ADORABLE (squeal)

  • my bird us fat

  • at what week can i start taming them?

  • @MRT0BY510

It's best to start taming them at 3 weeks old . let them get used to your hand and you could hand feedback to build up the bond. good luck!

  • my budgie looks just like this check out my videos of him!

  • the budgie wasn't stable back then but for advise it might be a good idea to put a budgie that old into a soft box if the next time you get one

  • I have a question.

Today I bought a young budgie from a man breeding them.

Mine was one of three of the youngest there, and I'm guessing it's around the same age as the one in your video, maybe a little bit younger.

He can't fly yet, but could you please tell me approximately what age they learn to fly?

  • @skuldorai

I never really counted the date they started to fly. But you will notice they kind of pratice to fly in the cage and that's when I let them out of the cage. at the beginning they would fly too quick and hit the wall or window but after few times they knew it hurt so they wouldn't do that anymore

  • @skuldorai sorry this is late, im not the owner of this vid but i can answer your question. I have a budgie that is like maybe a little younger than a month? and it still cant fly. It starts maybe at 2 months they do good flying.

  • I know that you like to pet it in the soft wings at it,i almost pet my laptop screen! but dont lift it like that it feels uncomfortable! he is adorable!

  • What did you feed him/her when it had no feathers yet?

  • oh he is so sweet!!!!

  • So cute! I have one like that named Tesla. You definitely have a boy.

  • @destroyahdes

yah. she is very tame 'right now' I'm sure her mood will change when she grow up. but for now she likes pampering! what color is your budgie?

  • @mycraftisland He's the same color as your budgie. I don't have a video of him on youtube yet. But your budgie is a boy. Watch my video on sexing budgies to learn how to tell.

  • Aww!He looks exactly like my budgie. But isn't he a girl because his ceres look pink?

  • Well. can't really tell right now. their cere will change later on.

  • @mycraftisland oh ok.Its called a cinnamon parakeet right?I think thats the name because they have cinnamon coloured stripes.
