Thank you for this introduction to using Hebrew on the Mac! While I begin to investigate, I'm interested in your experience comparing InDesign CS5 to Mellel for graphic design.
What software are you using, OriCohenP? It may be the applications, not the Mac OS itself, that's the problem. Especially if you're using unpointed text, applications that use the Mac OS X native text engine shouldn't deal you too many fits. At least the fonts and RTL support are actually built into the OS … whether an app actually uses that ability well depends on the program. Mellel FTW!
There are no instructions for Hebrew use in the Pages manual. I struggled and figured out a lot on my own (having previously used Nisus). But this is great! Why doesn't Apple post this as Hebrew help?? Todah Rabbah.
@oricohen hebrew on mac doesn't suck... hebrew sucks...

jrossdzn, the Adobe CS products do not support RTL at all, unless you specifically buy the Middle Eastern versions.

craigc1264: It all depends on what application you're using. For iWork and iLife applications, no. For Firefox, yes. And so on it's trial and error.

Any way to select individual letters besides Milel?

This is kind of like typing japanese, it deletes the whole slot instead of just the syllable.

I apologize for the hum in the second half of the video; it's the fan on my internal hard drive.
