I downloaded this show of the Kingsmen from Fleetwood just a couple of years ago, and stll listen to it in my car from time to time...some 40 years later! It was a GREAT show, and it really brought down the house when they came "back east" to compete on the East Coast. Despite being a long-time Cabs follower, I still think this particular 1971 Kingsmen show was one of the BEST!
I miss the Kingsmen. How about bringing them back and have them perform the shows as they did back at this time period? Same songs and march. No matter if they can have extra stuff like they do today, they would always just use what they brought onto the field, just like the 1970's. And even if they were pressured into changing, "just say no", and just keep the show in the old traditional form.
My God... this brings back so many meaningful memories! I marched, 2nd French Horn with the St. Louis Page Park Cadets in these finals prelims where we placed 11th. Well... that year, for the first time, there were only 10 corps on the field that night (instead of the usual 12)! We were dissapointed but, nevertheless, stoked because we knew, and the scores showed, that we had finally "made it" to the finals! We were at the top of our game and the DrumCorps world!!!
Oh, my goodness! No percussion pit? No "amped" soloists? No singers or dancers? No costume changes? Start on one end and end on the other?? Only allowed to plat drums and bugles you carried on & off the field?? How did they ever do it?? OLD SCHOOL!!
LOVE SCV from 1971. A classic show.

If you have footage of the Kewanee Black Knights/Geneseo Knights from this era, I'd love to see it.

@roberthull93534 Perhaps you missed the Kingsmen Alumni Corps in 2007. We performed at DCI semi-finals at the Rose Bowl.

Holy Crap...... High Marktime?
I marched contra in the Kingsmen .. Quit with the politicing and get'm back on the field! Oooh.
One more thing: Like, amplifying the pit, solos, or singing adds to the show? IT SUCKS!

Unfortunately, the audio runs in real-time but the visual runs at about half-speed: nothing is in sync.

@Nevermann
Even in slow motion, the Kingsmen rifle line is sharp!
