I have a new theory on why Beckett didn't fire the cannons. If you guys have watched the deleted scenes on POTC: AWE or have heard of the book Price of Freedom then you know the reason Jack was branded a pirate was he used to work for EITC and disobeyed their orders, specifically Beckett's when asked to ship slaves because his moral compass told him "people aren't cargo" which is true so he set them free and Beckett had the Wicked Wench aka Black Pearl burnt and sent to the depths.
@misatchi On the deleted scenes Jack thanks Beckett for never making him be anything but himself, which is true, think about it. Jack was on the Endeavor with Beckett, if he really wanted him dead he would have done something right then but no, he even offers him a spot back on the EITC in this particular scene. When all was said&done he realized it was "just good business" to let Jack have revenge because he had already took away his boat and pride once before, he couldn't very much do it twice.
@misatchi Basically for some reason it is suddenly very obvious to me how important Jack was to Beckett. He embarassed him in his own company by acting against his orders which is why Beckett hated pirates so much but, when it came to Jack himself I think Beckett hated the choices Jack made rather than Jack himself. I think he actually cared about Jack as a person and never really had the guts to kill someone he cared about, no matter what they did. He was power hungry but not evil by any means.
funny how lord becket is short but merceful at the same time...he looks better when he has his hat on....i wonder why he decided to die with his ship instead of fighting with his army?anyone know why? "It's just...good business"last words spoken before his death
Dang, one bump in the road and he loses it! I was always angry about that; Beckett should have reacted quicker and maybe they could have lived to fight another day.
Lol yes, ever notice short men always have more control issues and get very bitter when they dont get their way? My mom and I call it Short Man Syndrome. lol XD
I Love Beckett. In fact i love any Hieght deficient Machavellian Megalomaniacs. But for all his power Hungry reasons for ridding the world of disgusting pirates (Do i seem Hypocritical to you considering my username?)he was doing it for the greater good the protection of MY COUNTRY'S TRADE AND PEOPLE (Great Britain). Anywho great video
Anyone here thinks that if Pirates 4 is made it should be done as a Prequel to The pirates Trilogy?.
honestly, i don't think beckett wanted to do it for the 'greater good' at all. O_o It was more for profit & selfish gain. I think the british navy fallowed him because they thought it was for the greater good. But Beckett definately had selfish motivation.
they should of not killed beckett or davy jones.

When Beckett dies,
It ends his lies,
And starts eternal slumber.
When Beckett dies
No body cries,
During this musical number.
Too bad he dies. He was awesome XD.
