This movie is very reminiscent of "Hell in the Pacific" (1968), starring Lee Marvin, a shot-down US pilot and Toshiro Mifune, a Japanese naval captain. Stranded on a desert island they torment and sabotage one another, but eventually realise it is better to cooperate. They even get friendly, until they find a newspaper with the war news,then start to fall out seriously but are both blown to bits by a naval bombardment. This frogman and Dennis Quaid get along much better than the Yank and Jap.

Sure, there were never any meteors. They were actually avoiding tidal waves..guess that was too much for the budget.

Dracs can reproduce with eachother. They can create children on their own, but in the book their Talman dictates that they must join fluids with another by the 3rd offspring. So they have both male and female organs.

Zammis and Davidge left the cave to explore some of the "birds" ships -- that were seen periodically. Davidge hurt himself and told Zammis to keep going. Davidge was picked up by the humans and Zammis by the dracs.

Zammis was an adult at that point. He was also taken to an insane asylum for being an Irkmann-vul. Human lover. He loved Davidge like a parent of course.

Davidge translated the Talman to english.

Davidge and Jeriba Shigan's parent rescued Zammisfrom the insane asylum.

Zammis had an offspring.

I think the only part of the flilm that was accurate -- Jeriba died during child birth.

Also Jeriba had a miscarriage the first time it was pregnant.
